I don't give a rats ass about a better camera.

This close to the release of competitors new phones, the ad is Apple's smoke screen.

Yet I do get that the women will love it. They're the member of the family that takes the snapshots of the kids. Or if younger, it's pics of Girls Night Out.

Whatever Apple does to grab more attention is fine, even if it has nothing to do with the rest of the phone. After all in those demographics "Selfies" are the current fad.

This post tells more about you than you do about the commercial. Grow up.

Stereotypical AND sexist all in one post.

And likely will deny it to the bitter end. Smart marketing targets specific demographics. I also assume the poster has no kids. And about "selfless", read a large number of posts all saying how they don't like this, that, the other, that marketing should appeal to their interests, not other demographics.

Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT ad. But at the same time I keep wondering why Apple had to be pushed around for so long to make it.

I loved this advertisement. I can personally relate to the ad, as I take picture with my iPhone all the time at anything I found interesting or beautiful, just like this ad. Having a high quality camera and a photo sharing device right in my pocket is just wonderful, and I now take more pictures and videos with my iPhone than DSLRs and camcorders. Apple has really nailed it in terms of relating its products with the actual users emotionally. Job well done, Apple, you did much better than those Samsung ads.

I take more photos on my iPhone 3Gs than my proper digital camera simply because I have it with me when out.

Can't wait to get my hands on the next iPhone when it comes out.

The iP5 camera is great in ideal lighting conditions, as soon as you need a flash - blechhh. Even this Nexus 4 I have right now kills it when the flash has to be used...

Love the new ad

The screaming ads were just terrible. This ad is beautifully shot, tasteful music, a real soul to it. The only complaint is that I wouldn't say anything, just flash the iPhone name and the Apple Logo.

excellent! first great ad i have seen in a while
The ad says more than meets the eye. it shows cool young people "using"the device they have paid for in real situations. The last statement says it all
forget all the other hype and bs in the end more people are creating with their device than the competition. This has always been apple's philosophy. they are not a spec company touting their hardware instead they tout what the actual user creates from their tool. Personally I could care less whats inside, how big the screen is etc. What is important to me is how well it does its job. When you look at the whole package from the camera, durability of a metal housing,
battery life, style, call quality and ease of use there is no better phone. Notice Samsung has to say "we are the next big thing" When you are the big thing you don't need to say it. You need to say it when your product doesn't speak for itself!

I think that it is a great ad, which really captures a sense of wonder at the whole business of having a nice camera in your pocket at all times.

I think that the target audience is smartphone newbies who still don't quite understand what sorts of advantages there are to having a smartphone. I think that the ad speaks to them very effectively.

I really hope Apple releases more ads with that express this type of tone.

Putting heart into an advertisement, connecting it with emotion, really hits home with people. Especially as technology has become such an essential aspect of our lives: in how we communicate, learn and play.

My absolute favorite ads Apple has published in recent years are those for the iPad 2. Incredibly touching.

Apple Runs New Ad Focusing on the iPhone's Camera

Since when has Apple referred to it as, the iPhone?

It's always just been, iPhone

Not a very good ad tbh. Too long, and I hate to say it, but as mentioned before, tell me why I would want this phone. I could care less that its used most to upload photos. The script just kinda ruined it for me!

Showcase it's optics, the sapphire crystal covering, led flash. The apps that the consumer can use at ease to post. Tell the consumer WHY they need this phone, & not with a stat preferably.

Very well made ad except the message just plain sucks

More work is done on PCs than any other computer. Guess that makes them better? No. Tell us why we should be one of those people taking pictures with the iPhone.

Exactly!
I never take photos with my iPhone.
Why? Because I'm a professional photographer and I just want better photos than what an iPhone can manage. iPhone's only advantage is, it's with me all the time. But if I'm traveling to someplace interesting, I wouldn't just rely on my iPhone to capture those special moments. Not to mention other phones in Japan offer much higher resolution cameras with better lenses and sensors.

Gushing over Apples ad is fine if that's what it takes to make you feel good.

But the fact is, Apple simply paid a great ad agency to convey a message. The agency did all the work, knew what to suggest to Apple & a load of money changed hands.

All that matters is the effectiveness of the ad. Something that is only revealed after the fact. With some luck, this campaign will be successful & _then_ you can gush all you want.
