Exactly!
I never take photos with my iPhone.
Why? Because I'm a professional photographer and I just want better photos than what an iPhone can manage. iPhone's only advantage is, it's with me all the time. But if I'm traveling to someplace interesting, I wouldn't just rely on my iPhone to capture those special moments. Not to mention other phones in Japan offer much higher resolution cameras with better lenses and sensors.

Cool. That's your situation. The rest of us aren't a self professed professional. For the vast majority of photos we take in our everyday lives this camera works for us just fine.

This was a wonderful Ad! This is the type of commercials Apple should be running.

The last campaign (with the quick paced words followed by a "shout") was just... okay.

Personally I would've removed that irritating "shout" at the end.

But yeah really enjoyed this commercial. Personal, emotional and classy.

More like this please.

Very well made ad except the message just plain sucks

More work is done on PCs than any other computer. Guess that makes them better? No. Tell us why we should be one of those people taking pictures with the iPhone.

It's probably better than my point-and-shoot in most cases, and I don't have a DSLR. It's also smaller than any decent point-and-shoot, and you're more inclined to carry it with you everywhere.

----------

I liked it until the end. The vocal actor isn't good. The rest of the ad is above average for Apple.

I use the best camera available. If I had a DSLR or a nice point-and-shoot, since I don't have a purse (since I'm a man), I wouldn't carry it around and definitely would not have it out for quick access, so that's just too bad.

The worst ad i have ever seen from apple in 20 years. It has no redeeming qualities. Especially not the cloying overdone sentimentality. As an Apple ad, it will please the Samsung ad agency who could go to town with a devastating parody. In fact its not a million miles away from that recent Instagram parody already.

Heads need to roll

I don't give a rats ass about a better camera.

This close to the release of competitors new phones, the ad is Apple's smoke screen.

Yet I do get that the women will love it. They're the member of the family that takes the snapshots of the kids. Or if younger, it's pics of Girls Night Out.

Whatever Apple does to grab more attention is fine, even if it has nothing to do with the rest of the phone. After all in those demographics "Selfies" are the current fad.

I don't think you give a "rat's ass" about anything Apple makes, judging by your frustrated mood whenever you say anything. Why exactly are you here? << rhetorical question

The ad that captures about half of what I use my iPhone for is bad? You seriously like the ones with the shouting and the nerdy/creepy support guy who tells borderline lies?

Enjoyed the ad. Tasteful, focused, and it was captivating. And like others have said, something in general that everyone can relate to.

Not a very good ad tbh. Too long, and I hate to say it, but as mentioned before, tell me why I would want this phone. I could care less that its used most to upload photos. The script just kinda ruined it for me!

Showcase it's optics, the sapphire crystal covering, led flash. The apps that the consumer can use at ease to post. Tell the consumer WHY they need this phone, & not with a stat preferably.

Too long would be Samsung's 2:30 adds that are all over the place talking about unicorns, security, cases, Blackberry bashing, etc. etc.

And as mentioned previously, its about branding. The general public doesn't need to know what kind of glass on the lens nor what kind of flash. The ad should wet their appetite enough to go look it up if curious, and I think it does a really good job.

should've included the blurry and misty photos of the Samsung Galaxy S4 from Ars Technica's review:

ImageImage

Why, because the photographer sucked? I've read about 20 reviews on the S4 and most of them are saying that the S4's camera is practically identical to the iPhone 5's. Both do great in good light but produce mediocre pictures (compared to the Lumia 920 or the HTC One) in low light situations.

I always laugh at the SAFE ads: Samsung for Enterprise
They don't even say why it's safe. It's just safe. Trust us.
Ironically, it's unsafe.

Somebody at Apple sure does love black/white interracial couples. Still remember that cringe-inducing thanksgiving commercial.

So you're going to compare a phone released half a year ago to one released a few weeks ago? In that case...

Yes - unfortunately you have to. Apple isn't releasing anything new any time soon and apparently they think that the iPhone 5 is capable of competing against the S4. So for the time being, it's only consequential to compare the iPhone 5 to the S4. Unless you're willing to admit that the iPhone 5 is a dated and inferior product, of course. But I'm having the feeling that you aren't :)

I really like the ad, btw.

You know Apple is going down the tubes when all their fanboys are creaming over some advertisement about the iPhone camera.

I am still on the iPhone 4S an upgrade from the 3GS (which was NOT good enough for photos) and it works just fine for me as well. It is always on me, I currently have no other camera and the one I did was just a nice point and shoot, however it was never on me unless I knew I would be taken photographs.

For the times I do take photographs it really is good enough at this time.

How is that even an issue?

One of the worst ads I've ever seen. Anyone who thinks this is good advertising....well they probably don't work in advertising. This makes me want to do nothing. It doesn't make you want to buy, it's like a reminder, and that reeks of trying to hold on.

I'm not sure I'd focus on the camera so much if I was Apple considering there are several smartphones out there with much better cameras.

This is why i love you Apple! I refuse to ever jump onto the Samsung bandwagon. I love this ad. :D

Wayyyy better than the flashing words and screaming of the other ads. I like this one a lot.

Should have been more like

"Capture your moment, with the worlds most loved camera"

Would have got the message across, and it also somewhat includes all the awards they've won.

But nonetheless I'll take it, because its the best ad they've put out in a loooong time :D
