The worst ad i have ever seen from apple in 20 years. It has no redeeming qualities. Especially not the cloying overdone sentimentality. As an Apple ad, it will please the Samsung ad agency who could go to town with a devastating parody. In fact its not a million miles away from that recent Instagram parody already.

Heads need to roll

Let them attack apple.

When companies as big as Samsung produce the ads that they have been producing it looks like a whiny child crying because the other child got something he wanted. It's not attractive, it's pathetic.

Very well made ad except the message just plain sucks

More work is done on PCs than any other computer. Guess that makes them better? No. Tell us why we should be one of those people taking pictures with the iPhone.

I work in entertainment marketing - guess you don't use Instagram - the vast majority of pics on there are iPhoners -- seriously in a meeting the other day -- devices are gonna come down to camera, email, text, video, and gaming -- no matter how much people whine bigger is better a phone won't replace the iPad. Tim Cook is absolutely right - the iPad market is the real mother lode of markets - PC's are dead and yeah APPLE was first to say it and market it..

The camera is becoming the single most important use of a smart phone - am shocked how so many of you just don't get that - and I'm not talking about us "core" customers - think out of this box -- Apples grown wayyyyy past it's core... Why should their marketing address our needs when the vast majority of users LOVE the camera aspect on their devices - duh.

I'll say it again - the camera is becoming the most important feature on phones today - add zoom, better night shots and you've got the market .... Yeah I said the camera.

I'm betting that AirPlay will be Apples way to exchange pics with ANYONE'S device instead of stupidly "touching butts" like the same-sung phones...

Kinda of a mundane ad. Doesn't say too much about the iPhone other than it has a nice camera. Ok that's great, but we already knew that...

It's ok, but not great.

We really can't assume that people know anything about the iPhone. People read that Apple is doomed in the news and that Samsungs offer big screens and "Droids" are surpassing iPhones.

It's worthwhile to point out a strong point of the iPhone (awesome camera) and also polish the brand - remind people that Apple is the classy tech company who gets what normal people want. :apple:

I know it is among the core features for my use, along with drop box I do not even have to use cables, cards etc.. for transfers.

Now let's get some Siri integration with the camera...

Me: "Siri, take a picture in 5 secs"
Siri: "Ready when you are..."
Me: "Now"
Siri: "5....4....3....2...1..."

Gushing over Apples ad is fine if that's what it takes to make you feel good.

But the fact is, Apple simply paid a great ad agency to convey a message. The agency did all the work, knew what to suggest to Apple & a load of money changed hands.

All that matters is the effectiveness of the ad. Something that is only revealed after the fact. With some luck, this campaign will be successful & _then_ you can gush all you want.
How very thoughtful of you to tell other people what they are allowed to think and feel, and when.

I heard you the first time and I'm calling bull.

Oh ok. Dude you must not get out much or you don't live in a city like L.A. or you haven't been to a concert in years - it's a SEA of PHONE users using their CAMERAS...

This campaign CAPTURES that feature. They are SMART. The camera is the single best way for a consumer to create its OWN CONTENT.. These devices are CONSUMPTION devices..

But that's exactly what they did, you just didn't notice.

Most people who aren't in marketing or understand the market and not themselves - give the general public more credit for their understanding of ads -- and their meaning... Yes Apples recent ads def are geared towards functionality --- because at the end of the day that's what the mass market cares about... Apple will appeal to core customers with NEW products not upgraded phones.

Becoming a jailbreakers tweak in 5,3,2......

No but seriously this would be cool :( really hoping apples gonna get aggressively competitive with iOS 7

I know it is among the core features for my use, along with drop box I do not even have to use cables, cards etc.. for transfers.

Part of my job is to follow data and analytics -- why because they give u a "snapshot" of where things are and where they MIGHT be going.. Apple better than US knows exactly WHAT operation of the iPhone WE use the most. Duh. Ask yourself why they mentioned the amount of picture traffic going through photo stream. It's the camera...

I'll say it once and I'll say it a thousand times......

In the world of smartphones.......there's the iPhone.........then there is everything else.

I feel the same.. At some point the trends are gonna shift to software more than hardware.. Um that's what made Microsoft into a world wide leader... I think that iOS 7 could be a serious upgrade to functionality - fingers crossed

Not a bad ad but not a great one. Hopefully this is a sign they have taken a 180 degree turn away from the direction they were previously heading.
