The linked article doesn't say there is an issue with TLC itself, but instead it is a flaw with the controller used on the TLC storage.

Psshhh that requires reading! It's more fun here to just assume the worst and bash them for things that are not reality! ;)

My iPhone 6 128Gb is working like a charm. Not a single reboot or crash.:)

If the problem was really widespread we would be having millions of complaints not one or two forum threads with thousands of posts (most likely from a group of hundreds of problematic devices that will get replaced).

Apple has a great warranty / replacement policy. If there are any problems in the future, I am sure I will be able to get a replacement.

Absolutely, Apple warranty and Customer Service is second to none!!!

I aknowledge this problem exists, however I believe it's not that widespread and if it is, people will get replacements.:apple::apple::apple:

Personally I'm not overly confident of the credibility of the article. Many people don't have the rebooting issue.

As far as I'm concerned, this article is strictly rumor which is what this site implies in the first place. Definitely not a true news item so I wouldn't rush to the Apple store and replace my phone.

Every product release, it's lotterygate. When I got my rmbp, I prayed I got no image retention on my screen (lg vs samsung)or slow ssd (sandisk vs Samsung).

Good to see the deniers still denying any possible problem.

"iPhones don't reboot on their own!"

So is Apple saying that they will hide the issue using an upcoming release of IOS?

If the memory is bad then it need to be replaced.

how could you say that!? clearly the 9 fatties who sat on their phones after a drive to Arby's in their '96 civics was reason enough to flip the fahck out in every publication for two unrelenting straight weeks.

exchange all your iphones now for Note 4s or face the dire fatal consequences!!!*

So what does this exactly mean for the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus 64 GB & 128 GB Models? How will changing from TLC to MLC affect performance?

I wonder if Apple will use one of iFixit's repair guides to replace the RAM chips in the turned-in phones only to wish that the iPhone repairability score was higher?

I wonder which chips they are using in the new Mac mini. :)

I got a launch 128GB 6 and I am noticing numerous issues with crashing Apple apps (especially the camera app) and a few boot loops. I don't know if I'll exchange yet, but I might consider it hearing that they are going to be reimbursing people.

If this was a real issue, this forum would have been filled with complaining.

Other sites now refuting the TLC NAND Flash failure claim and stating that it is a software/firmware issue.

Apple cannot allow a mass recall of course so they do something via firmware to hide the problems (badage fix). Then the next version will have this issue resolved. First release users are all paying beta testers. :apple:

TLC is still an inferior technology and I'm surprised they decided to drop MLC, given what they charge for their phones.

I've been waiting so long now for my iPhone 6+ 64GB in SG that I don't care if it has MLC or TLC or can't stop chasing waterfalls, there's no scrubs of my order planned, 'cause Baby-Baby-Baby that phone is CrazySexyCool.

I ordered my 6+ 128GB September 28th. AT&T told me they shipped it yesterday, and that I can expect it by November 11th.

I haven't had any issues, yet apparently, but I'm wondering: Are people that have been victimized by this getting new iPhones to replace their new iPhones, or are they getting 'new' iPhones that have been refurbished, or are seconds...

We're getting second, third, fourth or fifths. I had my 64 gb 6 exchanged for this problem and the replacement device has asked me for at least 3 different users' iCloud passwords. I also had to wait at the Apple Store for an hour for my replacement device to be brought out of the back room after the tech verified the problem and offered the replacement for the defective device. I wish the genius bar would set up a second line queue for those needing a device replaced due to manufacturing defects instead of being lumped in with a bunch of people seeking training, or new device set up.

This is one of those problems that no one knows they have and experience no symptoms until someone tells them they have it. It's like telling a hypochondriac that they looked tired. Suddenly they go from feeling fine to thinking they have the flu.
