I'd like to see an iPhone thats about 4.2". the 4" iPhone SE is a little too small, but much nicer for me to hold than the 4.7", and the 5.5" is right out at the size.

I've been recently using a 5c again and forgot how much i loved this design. if the screen were just slightly bigger, and slightly less border, it would be my favourite phone.

except for iOS >.<

Beautiful phone! So glad new design. *drops phone*... darn, the front and rear smashed, just like my iPhone 4 did. Yeah, hopefully in 2018 Apple release a true innovation: an aluminium backed iPhone! Samsung is so far ahead, they've gone to fake wood backing. I hear it's so when it explodes they can grow you a new one. Samsung saving the planet again. Of course I wouldn't like to spend my time on a Samsung forum. What, are you mad?

Please make a 4" version, the SE proves there is a market for it. Or even a 4.2" version if they can slim the bezel down a bit.

I love also the 4' screen and after my first iphone 5 i took the SE

I think the 4,7 borderless will fit exactly as the current 4' screen iphone SE

the new 5' screen will be same as the iphone 7

and 5,5' screen wil be a little bit smaller than the current iphone 7 plus

"Nikkei says Apple will release the three iPhones in the following sizes: 5.5 inches, 5 inches, and 4.7 inches."

Why isn't it obvious to most people posting that the sizes Nikki describes are the three current phones with edge-to-edge displays?

It all depends how they measure the size: if it's a full surface borderless display; the smaller one could be quite decent (just not ideal).
On the other hand; if they have a similar layout to the existing products, and are just quoting the screen size; then they're all quite bulky phablet types.

I don't understand the appeal the edge to edge displays. I want there to be some bezel to hold, so my fingers do not curl over the display and cover up information. If the display is truly all the way to the edge, most apps will have to increase the margins, effectively negating any benefit.

I agree the bezels on the left and right side of the iphone could be a 1 or 2 mm thinner, the top bezel can easily shed 4mm, and the bottom can shed 1 or 2 mm as well.

The speaker and front-facing camera should not be integrated into the display as the mock-up shows. I would not be opposed to a smaller secondary display for alerts and status icons, like on the LG V10 and V20.

As for the home button - it is pretty iconic at this point. Literally an icon. Every time someone wants to signify iPhone, they use an icon which is a rectangle with a circle at the bottom. I am not sure it would be wise for Apple to break this, as it is pretty powerful brand association.

So an OLED display is still a premium concept, according to Apple, on a likely £6-700 phone?

Given also that Apple sees OLED as the premium choice, its penny pinching that they still use 750p LCD panels and will continue to do so with variants in 2017. The same panel as the iPhone 6 (albeit refreshed).

Samsung came up with this revolutionary idea, that if you have curved glass on the back, you can comfortably hold an edge-to-edge display in one hand.

"The site still believes one premium model with a curved edge-to-edge OLED display will be sold alongside two models that have standard LCD displays."

If this holds true my 6s will be my last iPhone because Apple is incapable of doing what every other company has been doing: keeping parity between phone sizes.
Agreed...all phones should be OLED but sounds like they want to do again and give the better features to the large model which is great for their precious ASP's but crap to everyone who detest the large phone.

Many people (myself included) hold their phone with their palm and fingers outstretched rather than rapped around the edges. This is especially true for larger phones.

5.5 inches, 5 inches, and 4.7 inches... odd size spacing,

We want a 4" model, too!!!

And I wished for 4", 5" and 6".

Thanks to face-time audio that calls through your phone you can make a call from your watch, phone, ipad, macbook, imac, and mac. So really what we have is calling ability from devices 4.7, 5, 5,5, 7, 9.7, 11, 12.9, 13, 15, 21, and 27 inches. same goes for browsing and apps.

then I want 2.9", and 47.6"

Seems balmy to me.

Why 4.7" and 5"? Ridiculous! Talk about un-Apple. Next they'll be introducing the 4.85".

If the 4.7" has the same dimensions as the current 4", then that would be good, though it would still be inferior, because you wouldn't be able to use it one-handed due to the screen width. That's what I love about the 4" size. Nothing trumps the 4".

It's about this time every year, that rumors of multiple hardware versions begin to make the rounds. Often suggesting one model will physically differ from the others. No way Apple releases multiple hardware designs of their flagship product. I also find it unlikely those 3 sizes would ever exist at the same time.

Do we really need/want a size between the 4.7" and the 5.5"?

I knew I was right not to skip the iPhone 7, and I'll just trade it in using the Apple Upgrade Program, or sell it for more and still upgrade to the 8... This way I get to enjoy the latest technology instead of trying to convince everyone else (actually myself) that I did the right thing by skipping the 7

I am going to be so disappointed if it's not tiny bezels and edge to edge display

They should focus on making their phones holdable again, without using a case. Enough with the bar soap slippery materials. And thin isn't everything (as Barbie found out), it's a fact that there is an optimum thickness to holding something in the human hand. Which is why the SE sells well and is the most comfortable for most people.
The JB models don't slip out your hand. I prefer the silver iPhones but I don't have the oil hands necessary to make that phone holdable naked.
