AppleTV+ launch, not AppleTV hardware. I see them pushing off the MacBook Pro 16” for at least another week to get over this hump as it’s all hands on deck to get ATV+ shows launched, shake out any last minute bugs, et al.

You may very well be correct on that count

Same physical size as 15" MBP with a new keyboard and I'm probably buying. Any larger/wider and there will be more factors to consider. 15" footprint is already about the largest I want to haul around as it is.

Should have WIFI 6, Faster Intel Processors, 16in display with fastest AMD mobile video card available for a laptop, better thermals and could have some other tricks up its sleeve. This still will be a very good Macbook Pro and a machine that will last for years.
Only 3072x1920, not a 4K display if a previous leak is to be believed. If this is confirmed then I've lost interest. It will be behind from day one while plenty of higher-end PC laptops have 4K displays. Apple needs to stop the software tricks to provide more screen space and give us a better PPI.

Are we in for a mid November event ? Does the new Mac Pro deserves an event on its own ?

They still have AppleTV launching tomorrow, so I can see a possible launch some time in November - December.

Just FYI:

The release date for Mac Pro (trashcan) - December 19, 2013
The release date for iMac Pro - December 13, 2017

Both of these were announced previously, though, and only a press release made the world know it was available for purchase. So, for these machines marketed to actual Pros (with little to no expectation of a holiday sales boost because of their price tag), a December release date with no fanfare is quite possible.

I can see them spend all their energy introducing Apple TV+ with an all-out media blitz and then quietly release Pro related hardware (Mac Pro, 16" MacBook Pro) in December.

As for Airtags - I think Apple will want to explain what they are and how you can use them, and I can see them being introduced sometime in Spring 2020 alongside an iPhone SE and new iPad line refresh.

A separate physical escape key would be a huge and welcome change. But, only if it is in the upper left., not the upper right as implied. The upper left is where the escape key is on most physical keyboards made in the last 40 years. And my muscle memory reaches for it with my left pinky finger.

I hope it is the same size as the 15" MBP. I have several cases where the current 15" is already a pretty tight fit.

If they do ship this year, I expect the same event they gave the AirPod Pro. That is, an announcement emailed out.

That does make sense, but...

Why are the setup instructions in the latest iOS?

Apple has a room full of monkeys ready to test the keyboards on the first production batch before they say anything. If the monkeys throw their excrement against the wall after being frustrated with missing or double keypresses then Apple will delay the announcement.

We will likely have information next week.

Interesting that it is being held in conjunction with Apple (at Apple campus and visitor center on Friday with a meeting with product team). Would be the perfect time to pitch the new wares to pros.

I'm guessing this will be announced next Monday November 4th. To be released on Wednesday November 6th.
It may be AirTags instead though with this new MBP being announced and released the following Monday 11th and Wednesday 13th.

There's no way this is releasing in 2020. Not a chance. A 14" version will release between March and May 2020 along with a low cost iPhone SE 2, new iPad Pros, etc, but this 16" version is 100% coming out in November 2019 along with AirTags.

Guarantee it.

Apple may simply be planning to stockpile the 16-inch MacBook Pro ahead of the U.S. government's proposed 15 percent import tariff on an additional round of Chinese goods,

If you have ever read the book "Tim Cook" you will know that the term "stock" doesn't exist in Apple anymore since the era of Cook. They just sell freshly assembled products out of the factory to save on warehouse costs.

The pictures suggest the esc and Touch ID are both separate keys now, you may be mistaking the Touch ID key for esc key

so.. I still have my MacBook Pro 2012 retina.
the battery needs to be replaced. It’s swollen lol
Is it worth it to upgrade or replace battery? I use it for work and graphic designing. Thank you.

is it just me to does it not look very different at all from the 15"? may just keep my 2019 15" especially since I got it for 1,999.....

Why stockpile? Get them out and not have to pay to store them... c’mon supply line genius...

yeah I really don’t think that they are stockpiling. Here’s hoping for a ‘pro’ press release.
I don’t think Tim needs your supply chain coaching.

First, you don’t know what you’re talking about and second, we don’t even know the facts here.

Tim Cook has demonstrated he’s the best supply chain mind in the world, period.
