Yeah, my k800i from early 2006 still kicks my 3GS's ass in taking photos. If you're just going to ignore a blindingly obvious example of how Apple stagnates when there is not pressure, then I can't help you.

Which is why the iPhone 4 camera is better than the 3GS (and most every other smartphone on the market right now), because Apple "stagnates," right?

Just because Apple doesn't sit atop every single spec list hardly means they are stagnating. This old chestnut that Apple only innovates when it's forced to by competitors is baloney.

Oh, and I've owned Sony Ericsson phones too. Complete rubbish devices - good cameras or no.

Apple will loose this one.

In the end, how many ways can you make a slab of touch glass ?

Lets get the product out there!

Look, there are so many products that so similar, why is this fight happening? How similar is the Samsung tablet? It's running Android, it has freedoms the iPad will never think to have. Is it the device or the software? If it is hardware, this is stupid argument. Why Samsung and not anyone else? Look at how many phones are so similar?

This is wasted opportunity. For all you Apple people, your being on their side only means you want to be influenced by the limitations of iPads. This may suit some people, but not everyone. I want a device I can control my way. I want to download files off a browser, I want tabs, etc.

Or make a laptop with 3G. This fight is useless, and is only taking away competition. If you do not like the Samsung, don't buy it. This only shows Apple are worried people do want a device that has few limitations.

I can hardly wait.

The point about stagnating was actually a reference to my previous post. My point about the camera on the k800i (which was incidentally a great phone) was that it took Apple 4 versions to improve the camera enough to compete with a device a year older than the original iPhone.

Only in Germany. What, did Apple pick the country with the most facist laws on the books?

Seriously Dude...
Buy a map.

Edit:
oops then reread it myself.
Sorry is sort of 50/50 on draconian German and Australian Law.

If specs mattered as much as you'd like to think, the iPhone wouldn't be where it is today. Ditto for the iPad.

FYI, the lowly 3G still outsells even newer Android models. How's that for specs.

Specs aren't worth **** all when the software that's supposed to allow the user to interface with them sucks.

Without any pressure at all, Apple revolutionized the smartphone and tablet market. Years later Apple still sets the standard in both.

That's something for you to be proud of.

Where at all was I talking about specs. You chose to bring that up. I was referring to picture quality, which as far as I know isn't a spec. Also, the 3G isn't for sale anymore, how does it still outsell anything?

Guess its time to check out the samsung galaxy, if Apple is having such hisy fits.

My iPad has maybe 36 hours of usage on it since purchase, that was at least 5 to 6 month's ago.

If you're not even using your iPad wouldn't it be kinda dumb to go out & buy a cheap copy of it?

Also, if this is to believed... http://bit.ly/nv08fF Apple's case is screwed (but not as much as Samsung).

I am just saying how things come across my side of the pond, in America things might be different attitudes but in the UK people like to show off and flaunt what they have and status and being assumed of as wealthy is a massive reason why people buy Apple products in the UK.

In the UK if you shop at certain stores you are sneered at, buy your food from Aldi, Netto, Lidl or Asda you will be thought of as a chav/pikey (trailer trash in your country) but buy at Waitrose you will be thought of as wealthy which is why Waitrose profits are at an all time record high, go to Poundland you will be thought of as a benefit claimant, shop at Primark you will be laughed at and shame cast upon you so people like to make big fashion statements and wealth statements by buying Apple phones and tablet computers so they are considered wealthy by people in the streets.

There is an extreme hate in the UK for the poor and the jobless, people like to look wealthy which is one of the big reasons Apple does so well

Instead of trying to show off with a phone you guys should work on fixing your jacked up grills!!! LOL

Once all these stupid lawsuits are done, and finally show Apple to be the chicken shlt company that it is; Samsung should milk the whole thing in the marketing of all their devices. They should market their phones and tablets as:

Introducing the Galaxy Tab 7.7/8.9/10.1, the Tablets Apple tried to stop from being sold!

Introducing the Galaxy S line, the Phones that Apple tried to stop from being sold!

That would be genius. I think every fanboy on earth would have an earth quaking fit.

Oh, you again.

Apple is a, "chicken **** company." Apple users are, "blind."

Did you just join this forum to trash talk? Do you need a hug???

"most every other smartphone on the market right now"? The higher-end Android phones seem to have cameras as good (or better) than the iPhone and tend to have better features (image stabilisation, smile detection etc.), especially the Sony Ericsson Androids. Even the Galaxy S and Galaxy S II are no slouches in terms of camera quality.

My Sony Ericsson Hazel (which is a dumbphone), it has a 5 megapixel sensor with Autofocus (including face detection, smile detection and EV settings) that takes pretty good pictures and it has a dedicated camera key, which the iPhones lack and it is released a couple months prior the iPhone 4. Not that I'm saying the iPhone 4 (one of the best, but still not the best) has a bad camera but just thinning out the ignorance.

Sony Ericsson? Rubbish? My old K550 looks battered and it still works perfectly, and at least the camera focuses automatically (it even has flash!) and takes video, unlike the iPhone 2G/3G.

They will do exactly that, and sell millions (as far as the phone goes. pads not so much).

They wouldn't because the product is crap and even worse their customer service is absolute crap too

I had an innov8 from work and they didn't bother with any firmware updates or address any faults, they effectively let customers buy a £500 phone and then let them rot after Samsung had their money, with Apple they regularly bring out software updates via iTunes, Apple customer service is second to none and they have Genius points in store where you can take the device, Samsung when the innov8 started failing insisted that we send the device to them by courier and they return it in a few weeks.

I would rather have a pack of wild dogs chew my testicles off than ever have any dealings with Samsung again.

Apple excels in every way

Yes, everything but Apple is crap, we know.

And you know it because you have used Galaxy Tabs or Galaxy phones but as they don't make people look rich they are garbage. You use an iphone because is a status symbol.

I made it clear that I don't

I am in my mid 40's my comment about status symbol was made clear that I was referring to teenagers and students who like to show off false wealth.

I am exceptionally discreet with both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 but 15-24 year olds in most cases like to show them off to everyone that can see them from my experiences around London

That is the kind of defense that Samsung really, really shouldn't use. First, because Apple can point them to plenty of tablets that do _not_ copy the iPad. Second, because it would take Jon Ives three days to come up with three different tablet designs that don't look like an iPad.

I never thought of 24 year olds as teenagers? And they do not see them as status symbols, stop being so insecure man. The iPhone is just a toy teens lust for, the same as a 3DS, the latest Xbox game. It's not a status symbol to show of how 'rich' they are or want to be seen, rich people do not all carry iPhones you know.

And in reference to your actual post:

You have just proved my point, fake status, assumed wealth

If they are walking down the street with an iPhone 4 in casual clothes people passing by will assume that they are rich, maybe bankers or managers and so on when infact they are minimum wage earning cleaners, that is a big reason why people buy iPhone's, to make passers by assume they are rich when infact they are poor.

I have seen plenty of 'cleaners' that are not teenagers mate. Your post was very stereotypical and insulting and utterly ridiculous, makes you sound like a Daily Telegraph reader. A bank manager is more likely to have a Blackberry then an iPhone as most big company managers and directors do because they are given them. Very few are going to choose to have an iPhone..

I'm so sorry to burst everyones bubble to tell you that just cause you have an iPhone, it does not make you suddenly the coolest hippest person alive and in with the crowd... Majority of people see it as a phone, that's it. You are all so insecure to think a mobile device will change your life and the image you portray to everyone else around you.
Stop believing in the false BS Apple spews out, the famous 'Jobs Reality Field'

And people ARE interested in specs, namely screen size and camera, Nokia and the Galaxy S2 beat the iPhone easily in the camera department FACT, and it's FACT that you can get much bigger screen phones too, should you want one.
But I guess certain people just choose to ignore the many posts in threads about iPhone screen size rumours all wishing for a bigger screen

But never mind, none of this changes the fact Apple are currently the dirtiest company at present. I think the competition are going to steal Apples market, it knows this which is why it's playing these tricks.

Apple excels in every way

1) They are already selling millions, and they keep pushing even better devices at a rapid pace. As result, they will continue to sell millions.

2) Their products are not crap by any standard. In fact, i got the ultimate proof of the Tab's worth the other day, when a Swedish, extremely apple-friendly, techpaper ran a headline saying "Galaxy Tab beats the ipad at almost everything". That is not necessarily true, of course. But it proves that the Tab as such is a good device.

3) You had a samsung phone like 3 years ago, and that means all Samsung products are bad? Awesome. Care to explain how that is relevant for a tablet/phone running a different OS, developed by an entirely different company?

:- )

4) Second to none according to... you? Why so? If my laptop would fail today, would i have someone from Apple drive over here today and replace it? If my monitor failed, would i have someone from Apple driver over here today and replace it? If no, then they are far from #1 in support.

So can i... in three minutes. Trick is to make said designs make sense given functional aspects and overall trends in consumer design (e.g. the despicable glossy-glossy trend in high-end consumer electronics that have pestered my life for years  ).

Yeah he's trolling hard. In the UK flaunting wealth is frowned upon, even borderline offensive. Trying to look wealthy is something that low income workers with inferiority complexes do and it makes you look like a ****.
