Apple Says 2018 MacBook Pro Throttling is a Bug, Fix Available Now in New macOS Update

lol. Every positive article on macrumors (or any news site for that matter) devolves into haters always trying to twist positive articles into a negative one.

What's your point exactly? Isn't that how people are? It almost seems if you are surprised ;)

.....and that was my original post. Typically the best selling products are not the best quality or spec’s. It seems we agree, it was the other person that didn’t.

Honestly a better example would be Bose (pre bluetooth era, as they've actually become competitive in price and sound now) or Beats. Both have the highest revenue for speaker manufacturers, and both suck compared to something like a Sennheiser 595/6xx/etc

I don't "blindly" pledge allegiance to anything, anyone or any company. Stop pretending to know someone based on their comments on an online forum. What's crazy is that you put all this energy into pushing your particular stance or agenda. Whatever that is, I don't care. I am fully aware of how Geekbench results work. I was merely stating I am pleased with the performance of this machine. Unlike you, I don't have a motive other than supporting a company that I believe in.

Jeez. You are lost cause.... I like Apple. Use OS daily for last 25 years. Still I see the shortcomings and not willing to praise them unconditionally. Unlike you

Who uses their laptops like desktop workstations like this? Laptops are meant for portability and not sustained workloads the like of which you are describing. If you are doing sustained workloads like this, definitely invest the money on a desktop. They are more reliable and won't crash like you mentioned.
Apple only offers an “all in one” workstation. The
Macbook pro is the 2nd fastest mac with latest tech and no giant screen attached

Try prettifying your sig a little and they take you more seriously. It's like making an Apple product

;)

Not sure what’s so upsetting about the pic... I know Schiller has a way of triggering some folks though :)

Please see the post that I was responding to. If you have a problem with people expecting to use a laptop in a certain way, it's because Apple said they could.

Same situation when Apple was putting 6 bit screens in 2007 MacBook Pros calling it so great and "color quality simply not available on any other laptop". When Apple was criticized for making such grandiose marketing claims with inferior lcd panels, Apple defenders sidetracked the issue by saying "why would anyone do color critical work on a laptop screen"? Again, because Apple said that you could.

Bad things happen when companies let their marketing departments run wild. Other examples:
VMware's product line: vThis, vThat, vYourMom, etc.
Citrix's product line: XenThis, XenThat, XenMyAss, etc.
Cisco, Microsoft and other companies putting the word "One" in their product names. Let this "One" fad die already.

Preliminary results from 4K Premiere test:

2017 2.9GHz Core i7: 90 min
2018 Core i9 before patch: 80 min
2018 Core i9 after patch: 72 min

Also, very even clocks at or above base instead of spiky throttling.

Still going to be a thread full of crying and complaints.

Before patch the 2018 i9 MBP was about 11% faster than last year's 2.9GHz i7. After the patch it's 20% faster.

Windows revenue is double Mac revenue.
Oops, I meant the other way around

WHY? You think thicker means three times the current size?
Yes, because anything less and you'll still complain it's less practical than the more modular and better cooled gaming laptops, which are huge. Those are as small as they can be while having "enough" cooling (I assume for all CPU states, including turbo boost) and everything swappable. Either that or they're adding bulk for no reason.

You need to take another Prozac and work on your reading comprehension skills.

I disagree, given how long Apple took to update the hardware, they should have easily been able to find this error during QA/QC.

Curious to know your professional experience with hardware QA and the timeline Apple used, since you seem privy to this info based on your statement.

Sales do not indicate a better built product. Again, if that were the case then McDonald's makes one hell of a burger. Is it your opinion McDonalds makes one of the top quality burgers?

It means the Mac Donald’s makes pretty good burgers for that price point. Plus there are other perks such as speed and convenience over queuing at a restaurant to eat a better burger. So for the people buying a cheeseburger, that represented the “best” option for them then and there, and taking into account all the various environmental factors.

This just goes to show that different people value different things in a product, and what constitutes “best” is going to vary from person to person.
