I just called up FedEx again. She said she knew "Apple sent out a lot of emails stating the 23rd but your package is still marked as the 24th."

I then asked if there was any possibility it could be delivered today. She said "No, it's still containerized at the sort facility at this point."

So there you have it. If your tracking does not show its on the van or at least at the local station odds are it is not going to be delivered today.

Personally I'm going to stop worrying about it and move on with my day. If for some freak reason a delivery attempt is made I'll p/u at the station tonight. Not betting on that to happen.

I think I'll email Steve though and ask him what yesterday's letter was about though. It's not nice to punk customers.

This is not true at all! Read my post regarding my package just being delivered about half an hour ago. I even called FedEx an hour before it was delivered and she said there was no way I would get it today.
 
Ah, I live in Lancaster County. My iPhone says it departed Newark, NJ at 3:30am. Reading your post gave me a bit more hope. Enjoy your new iPhone!

Mine too. I live in Harrisburg. Hopefully we'll get ours today! Although I just called FedEx and the lady I talked to seemed rather bitchy and I kept cool and talked nice but still sounded upset and said it was coming tomorrow. We'll see.

Well hopefully your situation is typical and not an anomaly. At any rate, I can't sit around not knowing for sure. I know for sure it will be here tomorrow so that is my plan now.

I'm in the DC area. My iPhone landed in Newark very early Tuesday AM and I guess was trucked to IAD overnight. Tracking say it arrived around midnight. Typically "overnight" packages for me are in transit to the local station around 7:30a, arrive at the station at 8a and are on the truck shortly after. Maybe there are scanning issues, but I can only go on what I see and hear.
 
Mine says 6/23/2010 2:30:00 AM TULSA, OK, US Arrived at FedEx Ramp, the website says it will be here by 3pm. Should I call and see what's going on? I took the day off just so I could wait for it? I'm starting to lose hope that its on on vehicle for delivery yet.
 
Wow, this is just a series of flustercucks...

  • from Apple's white iPhone gone MIA at preorder time and conflicting reports with third-party retailers
  • to Apple's and AT&T's servers crashing under the load of preorders and reservations
  • to the pushing of availability all the way into the middle of next motnh
  • to multiple and canceled orders from both sides
  • to the no-walk-in policy for AT&T purchases until the 29th
  • to the waiting game of shipping status and dates
  • to FedEx's non-real-time delivery status and conflicting reports with their customer service

Did I miss anything?

It's so fun, we must do this again next year!
 
I also called FedEx just now and it took a few minutes to get to the right department. She said its out for delivery on the truck today before 4:30pm. She also said the tracking system is not updating properly.

If you give them a call just dont take no as the first answer and they will switch you to a different department. I have a feeling all who got the email will receive their iPhones today.

Contacted FedEx and connected with Andrea in IPD. She stated that they are having trouble with updating their systems due to a large amount of packages in the system. My current tracking info on the fedex site shows my iphone sitting in KC sorting facility with delivery tomorrow. Andrea informed me that my iphone is on a truck as we speak and is out for delivery TODAY!!!:)
 
Try calling FedEx IPD (1800-455-4588). So much more helpful than the customer service. They told me my package in on the truck for delivery....
the customer service representatives told me I will not get it until tomorrow.

He also said that due to the high volume of system data tracking data is WAY behind.
 
just called IPD. "it is on the van for delivery by 430"...

The other reps said tomorrow.
 
For those of you calling IPD and getting a confirmation for today... does FedEx tracking say that your estimated delivery is tomorrow or today?

Apple email says 23, fedex tracking says it is still sitting near detroit and will delivery tomorrow. CS on phone confirmed it is out for delivery today!

Looks like the online system is just lagging
 
Cat, thanks for the advice. I got someone right away, and he ensured me that my phone was 'on the van for delivery today'.

I suggest others call as well, it seems the iphone effect has just gotten to fedex's tracking!

IPD said today before 4:30, on van now. Tracking says "At dest sort facility."
 
For those of you calling IPD and getting a confirmation for today... does FedEx tracking say that your estimated delivery is tomorrow or today?

I just called FedEx IDP and the cheery associate said my iPhone 4 was on a van and would be delivered by 4:30 this afternoon! My FedEx tracking online says delivery tomorrow.

I am pretty sure we will all get ours today if we received the email. Can't wait!

Hey thanks. Just called the number. Spoke w/ a rep immediately -- no annoying prompts. CSR said it was on the van even though it did not show on the online tracking. So maybe? She did say it wasn't "guaranteed" for delivery until tomorrow. Still hate pining my day on hope.

I got the Apple 23rd email, fedex tracking page says 24th, but IPD rep just told me that it's out for delivery.
 
Just called FedEx IPD (1800-455-4588) and it says it's out for delivery

Online has been stuck on departed sorting facility (Indy) since yesterday evening. Indy is only 6-8 hours away.
Online says delivery 6/24
Apple emailed saying 6/23

I got the same thing when I called. I would recommend people to call this number over the customer service number.

I used simple tracker which said it left the facility yesterday at 7pm, I knew something was up since it doesn't take 12 hours to drive anywhere from their sort facility to the local distribution center.

When I called I was told mine is on a truck for delivery even though tracking says its at the destination sort facility. She also said tracking is really delayed today.

Where's the conflict? Apple set an email to every purchaser stating to ignore fedex's delivery date. They stated it 3 times that it would be here today. If people are going to freak out because they can't read then there's nothing apple can do about that.
