Called FedEx at 1800-455-4588 and was told my phone was on the truck for delivery by 5pm. Sweet! She did also say they are working on the site to get the updated statuses working.

But mine had left Sort facility this morning and was on a truck around 8-9am EDT

Mine just came 10:58am

Yep and the system is currently 5 hours behind. What do you expect apple to do about it? The packages will arrive today no matter how many calls people make.

Yep? Did you bother to look at your earlier post in which you definitively state that Apple's email told people to ignore FedEx tracking. And know you are saying that while Apple said to depend on FedEx tracking that is no big even if its been proven today that FedEx tracking is unreliable. You are clearly just making it up as you go along.

Here is your initial post:

Where's the conflict? Apple set an email to every purchaser stating to ignore fedex's delivery date. They stated it 3 times that it would be here today. If people are going to freak out because they can't read then there's nothing apple can do about that.

So I'm going to state one last time: the conflict is that Apple says A and FedEx says B. Now maybe FedEx tracking is behind but, if true, the conflict still exists because its impossible to get a definitive answer from either party.

Congrats. Did your tracking ever show it was on the van or did it just go from sort facility to delivered?

Just got mine, but I'm having no luick activating it -- keep geting message that my sim is invalid.

EDIT: APPLE SUPPORT NOW TELLING ME THAT I CAN'T ACTIVATE UNTIL TOMORROW. WTF?

Shouldn't have a problem. Mine is activated, my 3G is disabled, and I'm restoring the iP4 to my last 3G backup.

I'd try again!

my fedex has been updating real-time,

my question is about the 'Package not due for delivery'

should I be worried?

Thanks Cat1123...

I just called IPD also and she said the site is having a problem updating because of so many deliveries. She confirmed that my phone is on the truck for delivery TODAY!!!! Sooo happy!! Can't wait!

Did you request them to hold your package for pickup by chance?

As for everyone else, I picked up my phone from Fed Ex about 2 hours ago and my tracking still says that it left the sort facility. I think that as long as you received an email from Apple saying the 23rd, you will most likely get it.

People shouldn't assume everyone is getting their phone today. I now a lot of people have been getting false hope, such as me. Certain people got screwed and didn't get the early shipping like everyone else. We won't get ours until tomorrow. Try not to tell people it's ok fedex is wrong, sometimes fedex is right

Sure about that? Today is the 23rd. You don't have a single update today. You're in the same boat as the people here, I'd assume.

its only 8:18AM here, there isn't an update for today (yet?)

I was just curious as to if I should be worried for the 'package not due for delivery' because they think they still have to hold it till the 24th or something

They probably decided to give other packages priority since yours wasn't due to be delivered for 2 more days, even though it was at its destination. I don't see why you wouldn't get it today.

Well I just called IPD, and they said mine won't come until tomorrow. It got to Denver last night at 10:10 PM and it is still showing 'At local FedEx facility'. So either Apple's email wasn't true for my phone, or FedEx still doesn't know what they are talking about!

Luckily I work from home, so either way I will be around to get it. But I just sent off my 3GS to the Ukraine, so I'm iPhone-less now! :(

Mine just showed up, and according to FedEx it's still in Indianapolis at the sort facility. :)

The impetus of this thread is that no one knows what to think b/c there is no good information available. I reached the stage where if it comes today great, but not expecting it.

I'm on the east cost. I haven't had an update since 11:45p last night. FedEx tracking says it's still at the sort fac. FedEx Int'l says its on the van. I'll assume its on the van but since it's still not scheduled for delivery until tomorrow it is low priority so assuming I won't get it until tomorrow.

As others have posted, I got the answer I wanted by calling FedEx IPD at 800.455.4588 and giving them my tracking number:

IT IS ON THE TRUCK FOR DELIVERY!

When I track via FedEx Online it still shows "At dest sort facility."

I posted at 9:49 that my phone was at the local FEDEX facility and that I called them and was told that I could pick it up there.

I went prepared for a long wait in hot sun, I had my broad brim hat, shorts, soda Pop, and iPad to entertain myself while waiting.

As you can tell by the time of this posting, I was in and out with the phone in about 4 minutes. The rest of the time was driving there and back. I haven't even opened it yet. The counter lady was very nice, she even had my phone behind the counter so she wouldn't have to go look for it.

They are coming. Have hope and work with them rather than posting useless posts. They are doing the best they can.

Mine arrived 10:35a.
San Antonio - 78260

Refreshed my FedEx tracking page and the last update still shows:

Jun 23, 2010 1:49 AM At dest sort facility SAN ANTONIO, TX

What the hell? A FedEx truck just pulled up, stopped their truck, then turned the truck around and left. I have never seen a FedEx truck do that, hopefully it was just the wrong delivery truck and he was trying to find someone else.

Hope so! That would be lame

D'oh!!! I'm in 78256, working from home today and watching from my home office window for the FedEx truck.

Congrats!

The more people that get their phones, the more bummed I am that I don't get mine until tomorrow! Have fun with the phone guys!

Congrats. Did your tracking ever show it was on the van or did it just go from sort facility to delivered?

It never showed on the van, and still doesn't nor does it show delivered. It still shows Destination Sort Facility - Baltimore, MD - not even where it goes on the truck which is Crofton, MD.

okay... i was very skeptical of the "delivers on June 23rd" email, but fedex just dropped mine off. i'll put my tin foil hat back on now while i activate my phone :)

for folks like me who still have tracking showing as "at dest sort facility Elizabeth, NJ", i suspect your phones are out there for delivery today too.
