GM really means: "generally malfunctions," and so will their infotainment system.
Absolutely agree. No car without CarPlay.GM will ultimately learn this is the wrong move.
My wife and I leased new cars last year and both wanted CarPlay in our respective vehicles. We would not consider a vehicle that does not have the feature (granted this has been the case in the previous cars we have leased).
Yes. It's called greed.I noticed a lot of major company's have been making stupid decisions lately thats alienating their user base. Is there something psychotic is happening in the boardrooms.
And don't forget about all the data GM will be collecting on where you drive, how long you drive, where you go, how long you stay, etc. etc., all to also sell ads. The driver will be GM's new "product."I promise you it isn't about a big check from Google as much as it is about being able to control and manage the new platform to create new revenue streams via subscription. Soon, you will be forced to "rent" or subscribe to what are generally accepted luxury features in current vehicles. Since Apple controls CarPlay, GM wants an avenue to charge you big bucks for simple, desirable features. That's all. This will be more common as time goes by.
"Your air conditioner provides basic cooling down to 75 degrees. Should you want cooler air, simply subscribe to GM's 'ICE Package' and have the ability to turn the thermostat as low as you wish. Daily, monthly, and annual plans are available."
