Who isn't using a case though. Not excusing the design choice by Apple, but I've dropped enough iPhones over the years to know better than to go in the nude.

iPhone is fragile because of their design choices. They don't coat the backplate with enough of gorilla glass. Their display coating is not thick enough either but more importantly display design is flawed for durability because of the extreme edge bending. They try to mitigate that with very rounded corners to expand the tension but still if your phone drops at certain angle it's bye bye.

Same thing happens with fingerprints on the dark stainless steel colours now when looked at in a certain light.

I can't believe Apple need to issue a support document advising people what to do to remove them, are SOME people that stupid they need advice that wiping it will remove it

I was so glad when Apple announced that the new iPhone's were going to have a brushed titanium frame. I've never been a big fan of the polished stainless frame since Apple released it.

The only stainless steel frame I really liked from Apple, was the brushed/unpolished stainless steel that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S had on them. That looked a lot more premium in my opinion than the polished stainless steel.

I never use case on my iPhones.
I never see the point of all this effort in engineering if I cover it with crap case.

I have insurance in case I damage it , and love to enjoy it as it came from factory.

Can’t believe they are discussing fingerprints on titanium … 🙈

This discolouration is to be expected with brushed titanium. I wonder why they did not go with an anodised surface as with the Ultra Watch. They must have seen that effect during the development. Same with the crappy FineWoven cases. Somehow the corporate culture seems to go down the drain at Apple. Nobody dares to speak up anymore.

my next iPhone will not have a case. Since the iPhone itself will be made out of titanium. There’s no longer need for a case since I’m probably gonna buy one that’s natural titanium. And since Apple has decided to do away with their silicone and leather there’s no point of buying any other cases anymore. I have no intention to go to third-party case so I’m going naked on a 16 or 17.

Apple can't win at anything these days. People ask for lighter phone and premium materials, they get and still find something to whine about.

Why would a company be apologising for your dirty hands?

At this stage Apple support document on this just should read: "Use a damp cloth to clean your iPhone. If you do not like the fingerprints, use a case."

Of course, Apple denies all responsibility if you don't swipe the iTitanium frame with the Apple MFI-certified $25 iCloth

People don’t seem to realize that this could be an intentional design decision. Just like the mirror finish iPods there is a point to scuffs an scratches. It creates a personal and unique product, this is actually a Japanese design principle.

Or you could just get regular old aluminum.

It's not so much that you're holding it wrong, that you're holding it.

Maybe they will update support document to state that iPhone is intended to be used with Apple Watch and AirPods.. where it is necessary to touch iPhone.. please use microfibre cloth...
You're holding it wrong
