I wonder what the percentage would actually be if users could downgrade from iOS 11 once they discovered all the bugs, slower performance, decreased battery life, etc?

Probably not as many as you would like to believe. I think the majority of people are not like MacRumour users. They get on with things without putting them under microscope. They got other things in their lives to keep them busy.

Wishlist 2018: stay healthy, ability to downgrade 1 major version OR Long term support for older (or previous) iOS versions :)

I don't hate iOS 11, but these numbers mean NOTHING since everyone is required to update. Sure, you can let it sit in system preferences and let the device bug you about it everyday for the rest of it's life.

If there's not clear cut and simple choice to opt out, then these numbers are hollow.
I agree. What Apple is missing since Tim took over is some sort of fairness. Apple has become sneaky in trying to control and hold its customers: accept Apple Music - or not and suffer with a badly designed music app, accept the update now or later etc.pp. Sure, Apple has had its way with manipulation "you're holding it wrong", but then again that was a blatant manipulation, the current Apple schemes (and they are nothing less than that) are inacceptable and will hurt Apple more than they are aware of. They seem to live in a bubble where everybody tells them how great they are - and sure, looking at the numbers they may even come to believe it. But they do not see how the base is getting restless, annoyed and p*ssed and that will hurt them in the end. It's not that I want them to be hurt, I just want to have fun with my devices, I don't want to be tricked.

I am in an absolute battle with Apple to keep my 10. Every time I connect to wifi, I get the message to upgrade. One sloppy button press is all it would take to permanently exit my bug-free world of speed and 32-bit apps.

Here iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s, iPad mini 2, iPad Air 2, all running iOS 11, bugs I experienced in iOS 10 had been fixed, no complaints. Recommend everyone to upgrade. It was especially bad with iOS 10 on my iPad. It would stuck in particular orientation and will require restart.

No one with an Android phone bothers to update because it's not important? What is that based on?

I don't care if my devices has update. Current version runs fine and I am on with it.

I doubt many people would actually go check system update at all. Lots of people aren't even aware system update available if three isn't reminder.

I say this because I observe lots of my friends and coworker. They never seems care about system update at all.

My iPhone 6S with a new battery runs great on iOS 11. But you won’t get anymore upgrades out of me! Stung too many times.

4S rocking with iOS 6, 5s rocking with iOS 7, 6s rocking with iOS 9, X would want to get iOS 6's beautiful design if possible.

Did you install the battery yourself or did Apple? I'm trying to figure out if Apple will replace battery if phone is still on iOS 9.
Count me in. I want to know that too.
That is the only reason why I am holding out right now.
But my guess is, Apple would force us to get iOS 11 when we restore the phone after replacing the battery.

I’ve experienced no major issues with iOS 11 in my household of:

iPhone X
2 iPhone 7 Plus
2 iPhone SE
Apple Watch Series 3
2 Apple Watch Series 2
iPad Air 2
3 iPad Air
Apple TV 4
2 Apple TV 3

That is, I’ve noticed no problems and nobody else in the house has mentioned any to me. What are all these bugs that we’re supposed to be experiencing on a daily basis?

So it's not that there aren't updates or they aren't important, it's more that people essentially don't know any better.

The only thing that is going to encourage me to make an "upgrade" from iOS10 to iOS11 is a switch turn off the slowing down of the CPU on my iPhone SE. While I laugh at this its a really sad state of affairs from a consumer perspective that that the only positive that I can find is a "feature" that stops Apple from taking something away.

Lol. Sure, big change since Tim took over.

Begrudgingly because iOS 11 has patches needed for my iPad. iOS 11 came pre-installed on my 8+. If you let me choose between iOS 10 and 11, I would go back to 10 if I had the patches for meltdown and other known exploits.
