Apple told The Verge that the bend is not considered to be a defect.[?quote}]

If there is a bend............IT IS A DEFECT!

I would avoid it for that reason alone.

Wow!!

(some of) MacRumors: they don't bend, must be the user
Apple: some come bent, don't worry about it

I'd advise anyone with a bend bothered by it return it!!

This is unacceptable. They'd be better off having said nothing

It just goes to show you that "if some iPads have this problem" Apples QA/QC needs improvement, but we already know that.

Yep. This falls into the 'get that model a cheeseburger' category. Except in this case it's 'Get that apple designer a ruler in millimeters instead of microns'. Thinner is NOT always better.

Steve has been dead for a long time. That "joke" is old and frankly stupid. It adds absolutely nothing to the discussion and everyone here has heard it before.

I have not heard it but ur quoting and saying it adds absolutely nothing to the discussion is exacly what you did too. Congrats

No new iPad for me. What if I send this for repair and they say I bent it because I was rough and my warranty is made void. This is totally ridiculous.

That's also what Apple is saying.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say?

That’s technically not the answer, because if you read the article, Apple may not be accepting returns based off their explanation of the bending, being it’s considered normal. Unless that is, the store makes some exception otherwise. (Or Unless someone is in the 14 day return policy, then they can’t contest that.)

I’m talking about the 14 day return policy when I say return it. If I opened up a product and it was bent, I’d return it.

Really think Apple would admit something like this for a small number. What is the defense going to be when the class action lawsuit comes. Consumers should have expected a bent ipad. We never stated they would be straight. Apple better hurry up and get some fine print disclosure somewhere. Not going to help on what has been sold.

Yea I don’t think it’s that big of a deal to say there was a bad batch, it happens. Not sure what you’re saying in the rest of the post though.

Some of you guys take brands and buying products a little too seriously. I like Apple products and they have always served me well, but to take such an outraged stance on the subject is a little creepy to me. A little funny too. It’s a problem for the product and Apple for sure, but it’s not the end of the world. Buy the product, or don’t. You’ll be alright, deep breaths.

I don't think it is bent out of the box......

I don't think anybody is screaming and crying LOL.

And people expect Apple to be perfect because that's what Apple's image is. The best high quality devices and why Apple deserves premium prices........................So.........................

Haha have you seen the thread? The outrage, the horror, this is so terrible, blah blah. It’s kind of a joke. Well if you expect perfection in any company, you’re kind of a dummy. You take the good with the bad in any company you support and hopefully the good outweighs the bad. It’s not as serious as y’all make it out to be though.

You’re saying you don’t think yours was bent out of the box?
