So, if I open a iPP and find that it is bent, do I have 2 weeks to return it?

Is the moral of the story to carefully check your iPad at time of purchase to be sure it doesn't have any defects, including a bent chassis? Sounds like good advice for any expensive new purchase.

Some of you guys taking brands and buying products a little too seriously. I like Apple products and they have always served me well, but to take such an outraged stance on the subject is a little creepy to me. A little funny too. It’s a problem for the product and Apple for sure, but it’s not the end of the world. Buy the product, or don’t. You’ll be alright, deep breaths.
How many crappy products does Apple need to release and with ever increasing prices to boot?
1. Useless Touchbar on Macbooks
2. Keyboard issues on Macbooks
3. Ever increasing prices on Macbooks with less features and performance that is not that great all the while removing ports and forcing dongles.
4. Performance issues with Intel modems in iPhones
5. Lack of updates on many products.

The fact that Tim is hiding sales #'s speaks all you need to know - he's trying to obfuscate a decline. Time for him to go the way of the dodo bird.

Sorry, Apple needs to get it's **** together. I used to be a huge fan of their stuff as it was excellent value for the $$. In the past 2 years I've bought an Android phone which I love and am in the Google ecosystem now, bought 2 Windows machines (Spectre x360 and Surface Pro) which are awesome, and built a Windows machine that is a beast. I'd also not recommend any Apple computer anymore. Or even the phone for that matter.

Gonna be skipping this generation iPad Pro's seems we're right back to iPhone 6 like they didn't learn from that experience in the design and processing studio....serious bummer for that kind of money.

If you aren’t happy with a company and it’s products, you buy something else. I personally haven’t had any issues with the products I own so I am not in the same boat as you. That’s okay too.

Yes and yes. Very sound advice. I typically do the same with any expensive purchase.

Hey - all I know is that my 9.7" iPP isn't bent.
:)

It's quite a thing that Apple has designed basically all of their products in such a way that I only like the old ones and don't want to buy anything new from them.

AirPods are the last new thing I bought and I have no plans to buy anything new from them anytime soon.
Sad to see where we are now

I just bought one of these (plus pencil, plus keyboard folio) for someone as a christmas gift.

When you're writing/drawing with the pencil, would this be enough that the thing could rock back and forth? That would be annoying AF.

This is just ridiculous! Would one expect to buy a new car that has dents or body damage from the factory? According to Apples logic, yes, this would be considered acceptable.

This would be a hilarious ad for Samsung to do. You should sell the idea to them. Apple exec goes to buy a car and the car salesman takes the Micky out of the exec by selling a dented car because he purchased an iPad Pro recently.

I’ve got a lot of shares of AAPL, and if people are gonna get all bent out of shape about this iPad Pro bend issue, my stock is gonna tank even further.

A bend out of the box is a defect. Stop being cheap, Tim. Take care of your customers.
No kidding. How are we supposed to prove during a potential warranty claim later on that it was bent out of the box and not abuse?

Mine is fine so I guess I got lucky.

Haha have you seen the thread? The outrage, the horror, this is so terrible, blah blah. It’s kind of a joke. Well if you expect perfection in any company, you’re kind of a dummy. You take the good with the bad in any company you support and hopefully the good outweighs the bad. It’s not as serious as y’all make it out to be though.
Apple charges a high premium and explains during their product announcement by going into great details demonstrating how perfect the lines and design of the iPad are to get the masses to buy it. Now when it comes bent out of the box and they just brush it off...... maybe it would matter if it were something more meaningful to you. What if your weed was weak.....would you complain to your dealer especially if you paid top dollar for it but then he told you "you're smoking it wrong". I guess it would be ok right?

Yup and it's cool to like different stuff. But since Tim there have been a lot of these issues and a lot of price increases to fleece customers. Read up on Apple history to see how this worked out for them in the past. It almost killed the company. Things seem to be heading down that path now with Apple.

It used to be simple - buy a Mac - it's a few more $$ but more reliable, and has better specs. Now it's like 2x the price with worse specs than other computers. And chances are you will have issues with your Mac. That's not good for Apple.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say?

I’m talking about the 14 day return policy when I say return it. If I opened up a product and it was bent, I’d return it.

People who are not nerds like us might not be aware of the situation and might not notice it is bent until too late. We also don't know if the bend will get worse over time from normal use and start causing other issues (touch screen issues etc.). I think people are upset because Apple is aware of the bend issue but are saying it's "normal". A bent iPad is not normal, and it feels scummy when you consider people might not have any idea about the bending issue and not know to check for it.

Costco has a 90 day return policy for the iPP. With a 14 day return policy, I won't be ordering one from Apple.

So now we know how these came about...

Getting upset over a little thing then take it or leave is what Apple is implicitly saying and you're just saying out loud for them.

No harm no foul. Apple will give you your money back. If you're still upset then it's your problem. You spent hours trying to get a perfect one and we spent hours trying to get it for you. Now get lost I have other customers.

Sure, a slight bend in an iPad isn’t a huge deal and won’t stop it from functioning, but Apple saying this is normal is completely unacceptable and inexcusable.

I hope the press has a field day with this one and that it impacts sales on a Galaxy Note 7 level if Apple doesn’t correct the issue.

Tell me about it. Hopefully we can get Tim out at the next shareholder meeting and get someone in who actually knows what he is doing.

People enjoying their 2018 iPP's: enjoy! (honestly, you paid a pretty penny, you should)

but if youre expecting to re-coup the funds when you refresh iPads: fow-gggetabouttttit

This generation has a tainted reputation and trying to sell one will be like hot potato

on top of general poor resell of iPads as a trend
