I feel like Cartman waiting for the Wii to arrive.... "Come on.... come on..."

Crossing my fingers for next week... new MBP's, new iMacs, iPad 2.0 and of course... "and one more thing".

Come on... can't wait!

This meeting/possible event has iPad 2 written all over it!

It better!!! :) I decided I wanted an iPad in about November, but decided I was in no rush to get it and could easily wait for the iPad 2. Now I can't wait anymore and I want it to be released! :D

I hope your right!

More likely the quarterly staff meeting. Sundays for most stores, Monday where local laws don't allow Sunday opening.

I bet nothing will happen on thursday.... :( ....
meanwhile I will eat my old :apple: and wait for the new one another week

Im pretty confident, that this won't be about MacBook Pro.
Why? It doesn't fit! First of all: all MacBook Pros have an estimated delivery time of 3-5 days. If they would be available next week, why tell people it's just 3-5 days?
Furthermore: Why would Apple ship sealed pallets this early if it would become available next week? Makes no sense.
Whatever this "meeting" is about, it most certainly isn't about new MacBook Pros.

Exactly. Assuming - and, again, I hope I'm wrong - that they are to announce his retirement, it makes sense that they would want to instill goodwill with the employees by giving them an initial heads up before it hits the world media. As I mentioned above, I do think such a meeting would occur on a Friday, because that is when "bad news" is announced by smart corporations.

That makes as little sense as anything I've read on this board - you don't have all hands meetings to cover anything like that.

Well, if it were on that subject matter, what kind of meeting do you have to announce the retirement of one of the best corporate leaders in history? A surprise Dunkin Donut tray in the breakroom?

I really hope this news does not pertain to Job's health. I could care less if he retires or not, as long as he does what is right for him/family. Sorry, but who cares about a MBP refresh, if it aligns with some heartbreaking news about Steve. My thoughts and prayers are with him...

Truth.

I'm not a gossip-monger, but my money says the meeting is moved to late Friday, and it concerns Jobs' health, and that there will be a public announcement late Friday night. Hopefully, I'm wrong. But that's my bet.

FINALLY... Somebody who gets it. The drudgereport has a video of steve leaving breakfast with his wife and I'm extremely sad to say that he's having a huge amount of difficulty walking. My best guess is that he will be wheelchair bound within a week and we will be saying goodbye to the world's most important and endearing visionary on the 21st century with the next four to five weeks.

I am truly heartbroken. Steve, if you ever read macrumors, please know that you are adored by this community. We appreciate you for who you are and also for how you have improved our lives in so many ways.

When I used to work there I don't ever remember signing an NDA. Apple doesn't even tell it's retail store employees any news... You really think an NDA would keep things a secret?

Those meetings like people have updated are standard meetings Apple has a couple times a year.

Having the thousands of retail employees sign NDA's and thinking for SECOND that the secret wouldn't get out.... hahaha yeah right.

That news would be leaked in seconds. Absolutely no way you could expect that many people privy to juicy details to keep their lips sealed. Zero chance.
