Ah, thanks. Is that with the latest iOS 9 beta on your phone, too? Just realised I might not have had Handoff working since that update.

Yes, that is with the latest iOS 9 beta.

Also confirming that Handoff works in the iPhone to Mac direction as well.

Super duper uber noob question here: when El Cap is released to the public, how do i leave the beta program? Do I just DL the public release from the App Store and that's it? Or do I need to wipe my rMBP completely?

Thanks for answering my dumb Q lol

Actually, you have to wipe your computer and start all the way back at Cheetah and then do each delta update in order. Takes about 36 days.

Kidding of course, GM will first be released as a developer preview/public beta so presumably you will already be updated to the final version before anyone else, but of course, once it is available to the public, you'll just do a App Store update like you have been doing each time a new preview is released.

I've been on the DP since beta 1, why is the App Store showing that my latest update is PB5?!

p.s I am on 10.11 Beta (15A244d), which is DP6, but the App Store never shows them.

Looks like you missed a few DP betas. The last you installed was 4. We are on 7 now.

Is Handoff working for anyone? No joy with my mid-2010 MacBook Pro (with upgraded Bluetooth card) and my iPhone 6.

I ran 'Continuity Activation Tool' after the update which has successfully enabled Handoff -- the option appears in System Prefs > General, and System Information shows Handoff as supported under the Bluetooth section.
Handoff isn't working with CAT for some reason. I don't think having iOS 9 will make any difference.

just download the final public release

i can understand split view on a tablet due to natural of apps are full screen only, but i can't see this on a desktop where all u gotta do is work in a window....

do users really want to keep an app in full screen always on a desktop at the same time as using another full screen app?

I use full screen apps all the time on the 11" Air, there are many times I would like to put a small app on the side while the menu bar is hidden away.

However, now there is an option to hide the menu bar in El Cap, it does make it less useful.

Can someone post the direct download link to the delta + firmware update?

Not on macrumors. It is against the rules. I did it before and got banned temporarily. Such links exist however. You will find them on apple's developer forums.

They should reconsider the decision; it's really annoying to hate to press Alt every time I need to maximise a window; who needs fullscreen? It's only useful for videos and few other things, they can use the Alt shortcut for those things instead.
Just double click the toolbar instead,it'll make you smile.

Has anyone else been having issues with the lock screen? Since the last two betas or so, after waking my laptop up.. I can't move the mouse or type. I usually have to hit the power button and on the second try, everything goes back to normal.. very annoying, hopefully its fixed in this one.

People complaining about the performance of BETA software is as annoying as people who honk their horn in a traffic jam.

hmm, I downloaded the beta5, it restarted, but then it froze. I restarted myself and the update wasn't installed. I try to update again but every time the app store downloads the update, I click restart and the app store says the download has changed. So os X restarts downloading the beta.
anyone any tip?

Man, I will have to wait a LONG time until this flat, loud-colored, plain-text software design trend goes away and Apple comes back to ELEGANCE.

A shame, 'cause their hardware is still top notch.

Somebody tackle Jony Ive!!!

Speak for yourself. The vast majority of users are more than happy with the UI. Try Windows then tell us what you think of OS X.
