Java 6 & ZFS

Is there any word on Java 6 (only a year and half late) in this new build?

Or what happened to ZFS?

Thank you!

It seems im one of the lucky few who have NOT had any issues with 10.5, 10.5.1, and 10.5.2 . I got Leopard delivered to my door the day it was released, and since putting that disc in and installing ive not YET had any issue with it.

Am I happy apple is seeding new builds? Hells yeah, roll on some new features hopefully! Am I hoping for app fixes and such? Not really, because as it seems for me I have no broken apps! haha.

It seems like we're getting a Leopard update every month and a half or so. Is it just me or are we getting updates faster then we did with Tiger?

Nah, we're about right...

10.4.0 - April 29, 2005
10.4.1 - May 16, 2005
10.4.2 - July 12, 2005
10.4.3 - October 31, 2005
10.4.4 - January 10, 2006
and so on.

Oh yes

10.5.3 plus new iMac/mini - soon. At least hardware announced soon, with later shipping dates, software available by 15 April.

Anything on better G cards in those fixes?

Going to get $$$ of expenses from work (think of it as a savings acount) by Friday. Trying to wait for new stuff and resisting refurbs. How low will those prices go, maybe not at Apple stores but through resellers...

The same thing happens to me aswell, I find it really annoying.

For those whom see this do you have SRS_iWOW_2.0.2.255 installed as it has a nasty bug which causes itunes to re-open or to stay open after quitting.

So far the developers have done nothing to fix the issue.

well i've got a known issue, and it drives me loco:

save/load dialogs in applications that don't remember their size/position.

i HATE having to make them bigger every time

Cool, hopefully we'll see an update in the next few weeks.

One bug I always found curious, and was wondering if other people had experienced - when I eject media while having the Finder open as the active window, the media ejects however it also closes my Finder window instantly.

Has anyone else experienced this, or know what causes it or how to fix it? Maybe I should report it to Apple for 10.5.4... ;)

AFAIK only when the image you unmounted / media ejected was the one open in Finder, which should be desired behavior. If you have another folder open in Finder it shouldn't close. At least this is how it works for me.

The greyness is really hurting my eyes. I can't stay on for much longer than five minutes every 20 minutes.:(

Mine too. The reason for this is because after looking at a color for to long your eyes crave rest from it, and it craves for the color opposite to gray on the color wheel.

Good good the sooner the better.

Please apple bring back the drag-able icon for internet pdfs on preview!

I've noticed in 10.5.2 that when I click "Quit iTunes" from the iTunes menu, the application continues to run; if I click anywhere else other than my iTunes window, it quits immediately. No other app does this upon clicking "Quit" from the given app's menu.
I noticed something similar, except that when I quit iTunes, I see its icon bounce to indicate that it's opening again...

Great!

They are working hard indeed following the MBA hacking...but I didn't see Safari on the list (the point of entry/vulnerability exposed during last week's contest) in today's update blog entry. As Macs become more and more popular, Apple will really need to focus on securing their applications...hopefully from within the OS, and without the security software that PCs require.

Knowing you, Apple, you are already on your way to a revolutionary security code for your apps! :apple:

I am really excited and looking forward to your upcoming software and hardware updates as well!

2008 will truly be a stunning Apple year! :)

Hmm, I'll have to pay attention to this next time and try a couple tests.

Thanks old friend. ;) :)

Whats the size of this todger in its combo form? will 10.5.3 be the one?

I find it funny people have short memories though, I remember when 10.3.x came out; dear god it was as buggy as hell. It had more bugs than a escort on oxford street.

chill! we wont be getting ZFS in a 10.5.x update! :D it will probably be in 10.6 or 10.7. its takes time & a lot of work to move an operating system to a new file system. doesnt happen instantly like we wont it to!

Please, make iCal work as it did in Tiger, with the side drawer... why did they remove that feature??

i hate side drawers! make it a floating inspector please!

I saw that issue in 10.5.1, been working fine since I installed 10.5.2. Are you using the latest iTunes?

No issues here

No issues here either, what are the chances that this Kaptajn Haddock chap either has a really borked installation (aka installing every piece of crap off versiontracker) or has some damn extension like "mega foobah widgy-bum" which ads some pointless feature but in the process makes mail completely unstable.

It's like they are trying to get rid of all the bugs so they can concentrate on something massive.

Those developers who are working on MacOS X for Macs are right now working on 10.6, they are working on 10.5 fixes for problems that need to be fixed, and on changes to 10.5 that benefit Apple (like support for the iPhone, for new hardware, movie rentals etc.).

At this point in time there are probably not many working on 10.5 fixes, but 10.6 development should be well on its way. So yes, you are right. They are concentrating on something massive :)
