The Beta is still far too buggy, they could do with stabilising it before adding new features.
There is not enough time left! If the new iPhones feature force touch, then Apple has been internally (and with selective developers) testing it all along, in parallel with the developer program betas and public betas. For those who aren't upgrading their phones, Force Touch is probably not going to be an issue. Phones without the necessary hardware won't be able to access the force touch routines; no matter how hard you jab at your screen it won't trigger a call to any Force Touch API.

Apple finally fixed the scaled resolution bug on my 2015 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro. The login screen would show the native resolution at first, then the desktop jumped to the scaled one like an old CRT at logon.

Not fixed yet... it appears to not happen every time, but it's still happening.

I hope this gets fixed, I turn off my rMBP every night and it's a pain to see the sluggish animation when it changes the resolution back to what I have set.

Well, it's not happening for me anymore. Restarted several times. So yay.

Do you have FileVault enabled?

If so, can you try and change the resolution to 1680x1050 and see if it stays like that when restarting?

If not, maybe the bug I'm seeing is different than yours and it has to do with FileVault being on.

Grr, still cannot download even directly, the download either freezes through app store or connection gets reset through Safari!

FileVault is enabled by default on the MacBook Pro, so yeah. And I'm already using the same resolution as you.

For those in the beta test, is Elcap a modest upgrade only or does it really improve the OS usability?

I feel there are significant advantages in the speed and legibility of El Cap. They have slightly improved the grey on white problems that I personally hated in Yosemite.

Can't believe I haven't seen anyone mention this yet. In logic pro x the animations of everything, including scrolling within the timeline/workspace and the mixer are smooth as butter in el Capitan. FINALLY

On my 2 Macs, the build is "Version 10.11 Beta (15A278b)" NOT "15A279b." Am I missing something?

Really enjoying El Capitan! The animations were too jerky on my rMBP running Yosemite, so I reverted back to Mavericks.

El Capitan seems silky smooth. Day 1 upgrade for me!
