Hopefully Dev Beta 5 and Public Beta 2 are much smoother. I'm a bit shocked how bad PB1 runs on my 15 Pro Max, very slow and laggy with random massive battery drain. I know it's a beta and some bugs are expected, but this is really bad.

10.5GB for a beta 5 release... massive. IP15PM.
The last beta showed 12.something on my 15 Pro. I downloaded it over my cell connection because I was at work, and my usage did not show nearly that much... so it may be showing the total size of the OS download, not the actual update. Just a guess.

how is the liquid glass on this update? i hope it goes back to the ”frosty ice” from beta 3
I hope not. I hope it's like the liquid glass from Beta 1. For people like you - enable the setting in Accessibility options "Reduce transparency" and stop complaining.
It is interesting how many people are complaining about this feature, BUT often for the exact opposite reasons. I think the bottom line will be as you say, adjust the settings to tweak it to your liking.

I think it's one of the best Public Beta 1's in the past decade actually

Compared to beta4, the speed of the back button in the upper left corner of the screen has been increased in beta5!

Oh my gosh, the new software revisions with the super intense liquid ass shader pack are absolutely insane! My iPad Pro M1 was running still super laggy on the dev4 beta (downgraded back to iPadOS18). Even my MacBook M4Pro can’t handle the bugs and UI ******** in the last beta 4 without stuttering all the time. - If it weren’t for the WatchOS Upgrade, which I cant manually role back to watchOS18, I would totally downgrade my iPhone as well and update to the liquid ass revision 2 as soon as possible in iOS26.6 or iOS27 when they hopefully fix all the old buggy code by then.
