I stand corrected the frosty look depends on my shifting nature and scenery wallpaper in background here is current background and the glassy look is still there. My bad. I have harder times with glassy folders with my favored wallpaper arrangement.

Bleeding Christ

Why so many weather apps 🤣🤣🤣🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
See my more recent post the glassy look is there but my varying photo wallpaper works better sometimes and sometimes not a more fixed solid color wallpapers show a more consistent glassy look

Finally this beta solves the issue on my iPad Pro 2018 that it was nearly impossible to open the App Store app. First time on padOS 26 that the app is not crashing all the time. Yeah!

I hope not. I hope it's like the liquid glass from Beta 1. For people like you - enable the setting in Accessibility options "Reduce transparency" and stop complaining.
I am not complaining. I just want that the default is something that all their user base can use, which is like 1 billion people. All those 1 billion people does not know that ”Reduce transparency” exists.

It’s better that text can be read regardless of background with the default settings, and then there could be an option that people like you could enable that says something like ”increase transparency so much that sometimes you can’t see what the text says"

Change for the sake of change because you can’t innovate nor deliver on your promises.
Smoke screen: same UI, just a cheap skin ala Android of 10 years ago.
And battery draining just for keeping transparency. Extremely poor decisions in user interaction. I really want a better iPhone experience, not worse!
I hear you. But there’s still about 5 more weeks of beta testing before the public release. It’s too early to make conclusions.

On iPad and iPhone, when I’m in the app and a song is playing, there is no way to see how far along the track is, the length of the track, etc. You have to touch the little bar with the album art and music controls to see a time bar.

Is this fixed in iOS 26?
not a bug. that’s just how apple music works.

Switched back to 18.6

Removing slide over / split screen has been a deal breaker for my use case!
You can split screen with two apps, flick left, flick other right. Easy. Slide over I was missing at first, but found out not needed after all, even on 11”

Hopefully Dev Beta 5 and Public Beta 2 are much smoother. I'm a bit shocked how bad PB1 runs on my 15 Pro Max, very slow and laggy with random massive battery drain. I know it's a beta and some bugs are expected, but this is really bad.
That’s literally why they’re testing it, you say you know it’s a beta but clearly you don’t if you’re complaining right after implying you shouldn’t complain.

This beta looks pretty much the same to me. They ought to rename the UI because it's not glass anymore.

yea I realize it’s not a bug, but I thought with Apple refreshing the entire design language maybe we’d see some improvements. Just so so dumb you can’t at a glance see where in a track you are at. Jeez.

Public betas are usually more refined, with some bugs to be expected of course. What I’m trying to say is the initial public beta’s this year seem especially laggy and unrefined, more so than what I’ve experienced in the past.

Can anyone else confirm this? There’s another person saying it’s largely unchanged from Beta 4. These are contradictory statements.
I’ll be charitable and say that poster is mistaken and not just a troll. Liquid glass is still there and is the same as pb 1
