I just switched to Apple Music after a decade or so of Spotify.

On iPad and iPhone, when I’m in the app and a song is playing, there is no way to see how far along the track is, the length of the track, etc. You have to touch the little bar with the album art and music controls to see a time bar.

Is this fixed in iOS 26?

I also don’t like on the Mac app how it does show a status bar, but you have to hover your mouse over to actually see the time.

I thought this might come today. With 18.6 done and shipped, it's all hands on deck to get 26.0 polished for release.

Can anyone else confirm this? There’s another person saying it’s largely unchanged from Beta 4. These are contradictory statements.

Looks the same to me.

UPDATE: I tried plugging the Apple Studio Display directly into the outlet instead of using the Eve power strip that I’ve always used and it now works. Inconvenient to move my desk but definitely better than no external display. I wonder if it’s a bug in the beta or a new requirement moving forward.

Apple Studio Display is no longer recognized on my iPad Pro 11-inch (M4). Using cable that came with the display. The battery icon also has a flashing bolt in the battery. Release notes haven’t been updated on the dev site for beta 5.

This is a perfect example for how bad it is to read the music titles - same for Podcasts app. Makes no sense that they have frosted search bar in Messages and Mail and use transparent in Music and Podcasts. Should be the same or the other way around.
This look sucks - and NO it’s not the same to activate „Reduce transparency“ in settings!

I very much like the look, but appreciate others' opinions on the design. That said, I'd make the artist name darker — the smaller font size should be sufficient to differentiate it from the song title. I'm also strongly in favor of a toggle or slider to adjust the transparency without needing to turn on Reduce Transparency.
