Plug your iPad into your computer and then open Finder.
You will see your iPad listed in the left pane.
Select it and you will see the new interface that replaced iTunes. The Restore button is there.

Thanks!!! Yes I see the iPad in Finder. Cool!!

Anyone able to see if TVShow/Movies can be on a separate drive than the music library now that they are separate apps?

Yes in preferences you can select an external drive, just like before. However, my iTunes library on my test system is on an external HD. The new music app doesn't read the iTunes library there for me and the ALT key doesn't give me the select library dialog. So, it looks like it has to be imported again, which is a bit daft, as my playlists won't go across.

Maybe someone else has found a solution to this?

GOOD and I hope Microsoft dumps them too.

Maybe you can enlighten me because I don't understand this manner of thinking.

Why do you want features to be TAKEN AWAY?

-Written from my iPad Pro 11” that soon will become almost a whole computer thanks to iPadOS.

I'm glad you put the word "almost" in there. I refuse to consider something a complete computer unless you can write, compile and execute your own code on it without anyone else's permission.

I would love to have a look at Catalina. I missed the keynote and Apple still hasn’t uploaded it. They usually always put it up an hour later.

Is this good enough as a production driver yet?
lol. People have had it for a couple of hours. A first development beta is never a valid option for a production system. If you want to play, make sure you do a full backup (and know it works and know how to restore from it from a dead system) and then go ahead and give it a play.

Can anyone tell me how to enable Sidecar? I have a 2012 MacBook Air on Catalina and a 10.5" iPad Pro on 13.0. Thanks!

I'm not sure sidecar is available yet. If you go to Siri and type it in, it goes to autocomplete the word "sidecar" then changes its mind. If you type it in fully it goes to system prefs then throws an error saying its not available. Or ... maybe it just needs both devices to have bluetooth turned on. I've not got an iPad so can't test.

Wait a second here. If iOS apps can be used on macOS what would happen to games that I own on iOS but also have macOS versions?

If I can play all 3 GTAs with my DualShock 4 without buying them again that would be awesome! The iOS versions are already like the PC ports. I have Vice City on my PS4 but it’s emulating the old PS2 which is ugly and clunky today.

Maybe at least Max Payne 1 mobile which I don’t believe is available on the MAS would know be playable on macOS.

have you tried a symlink? In terminal, use the following command. ln -s /Volumes/External/iTunes\ Library /Users/applepuree/Music/

does anyone know where to find the "Share iTunes Library.xml" option in the new music app? seems thats gone, and all I see is a new library file created named "Music Library.musiclibrary" under the main drive music folder.

It works for me, with iOS 13 on iPad Pro.

I am gonna try this out soon. Want to see what features are left in the Music app, mainly interested in seeing if "Create New Version" and CD ripping is still around.

After installing macOS 10.15 it appeared on the status bar and it showed iPad automatically. I guess airdrop and Bluetooth have to be enabled.

I am not seeing it, but I have a 2014 air and an original iPad Pro. That combination may not work.

Can someone please see if Wifi Sync for devices still works? I have my iPhone and iPad setup to sync over wifi so they sync and backup without me needing to remember to plug them in.. Will be unhappy if this has disappeared.
