Wow, you must be one of the very first. Well done. Show a picture in 'Day' mode as well? Are you using it on your primary machine or a secondary one?

My primary machine, but I have it installed on its own drive. I'm going to avoid signing into iCloud on it since it's just for testing right now.

I got it installed and it looks great! I love the colors and the icons have much better detail.

Would you mind looking at the system report to see if there’s any “new” details added or firmware/version updates?

The look is fine, almost in line with Adobe’s newest icon updates now (likely why Adobe just did it). I’m much more concerned about functionality at release. 32bit still rearing it’s ugly head every now and then. Legacy extensions the same. This does not seem like it’s going to be a smooth transition, especially for “pro” apps (that aren’t games).

Lol, I know it's a beta, but anyone figure out how to display the date in the menu bar? The option is grayed out and all of the screenshots here look like we have the same "feature" selected. :D

The System Information screen looks the same as Catalina. No firmware update for the Mac Pro 6,1.

Fixed it for now. Had to fire up terminal and use the following. The changes didn't take effect until I opened up the Date and Time preference panel and selected the Time Zone tab. I rebooted and the changes seemed to stick. If you don't want seconds you can omit the ':ss' as shown below.

With seconds:

defaults write com.apple.menuextra.clock "DateFormat" "EEE MMM d h:mm:ss"

Here are some interesting things. Both Mojave and Catalina can't see the main Big Sur drive. You also cannot boot directly back to Big Sur from Mojave. You can boot directly back to Big Sur from Catalina, but it thinks it's WINNT. Big Sur also creates another drive (besides Data) called Update.

Did anyone else notice the boot chime when they announced Big Sur? Will someone let us know if they're put it back in? I have it re-enabled on my 16" MBP running Catalina.
It works...I actually just turned it on after you mentioned it could be done. I looked for it when I first got my MBPro 13 inch a few years ago and gave up. Thanks for the heads up that a hack existed.

No surprise, but Karabiner-Elements does not work on Big Sur. Heads up for anyone

Happened to me, too. It sat for hours here, so I restarted the machine and redownloaded up to 5GB super fast, now it's crawling again - working its way up to 9.56. hopefully it works this time.

can someone link to info of them dropping nvidia support?

i mean my mac can be updated, but that would mean that the dedicated graphics card would no longer be used. so that's a big decision to make.
I don’t understand, is that mean my late 2015 iMac won’t use the included 2GB ATI graphic card? I’m really confused right now with the new macOS update and what is actually do to older macs.

everyone relax theOS will work with ALL intel chips and with all intel graphics cards!

just make sure you have 80 GB of free space and I would upgrade to SSD

I wonder what this means for Intel users, myself I expect to keep my Mac for at least the next 4 or 5 years at the minimum? It’s blazing fast and loving it... but having an OS that’s a dual target makes me wonder, surely it’s all paved with great intentions and hard work, however when bugs arises pretty sure the ARM side will get the upper hand as the first one to fix (understandably) at least on Apple’s side. At least on the GPU side of things all would be metal and that would actually mean that maybe endeavors like Blender and others would embrace the Metal API (which would work perfectly fine for both SoCs gpus and discrete graphics card).

Everything is just different enough that its throwing me completely off! Its like using a whole new OS.

Google Drive File Stream doesn't work but there's no surprise there. Chrome working. Is there a list I can contribute to? There was last year.
