This is frustrating. All of the iOS 13 betas on my iPad Pro 10.5 have been pretty buggy, including the latest 13.0 one. Just in that release, it's still super buggy, laggy, delayed, and hard to control when using slide over/gestures/split screen. Also when I use slide over, it's often that apps just appear gray and I can't interact with them at all. Notes has some bugs with the Apple Pencil tool box. It randomly changes to dark mode for a second. If I minimize it, and then maximize it, half of the tools are out of the range of the toolbox. OneNote does the same thing with its toolbar if it's in split screen.

I'm debating just switching back to iOS 12 on my iPad until the GM release since Apple seems to be done with the 13.0 betas. School has started back up, and the iPad is my main device for taking notes every day. I don't know if I can stand 2-3 more weeks of this bugginess, even though I'll really miss the new features for the time being.

Theres’s a creditable explanation for what you are experiencing; it’s beta, not alpha. Do remember that, please. Thanking you.

I updated to the public beta 13.1 a few hours ago and so far (through CarPlay) it’s all very stable.

It’s nice to have the ETA feature finally back again on Apple Maps (the only reason I use Apple Maps as it can’t navigate for s..... in Spain).

I am however hoping that Google integrate the split screen feature and BMW integrate or provide integration options to my HUD from CarPlay but that’s unlikely in iDrive 6. Guess that’ll be my next car in 4 years time!

However the rest is fine. Calls, apps, photos, news, audio streaming, etc work and play nicely....so far.

I’m currently running iOS 13.0 PB7 which, for me, is pretty stable. In my Software Update screen, I’m being offered iOS 13.1 PB1 which I think I’ll pass on for the moment.

Does this mean there will be no more PB’s for 13.0? If there were another 13.0 PB released, how would they offer that to me? Can Apple offer me 13.0 PB8 and 13.1 PB1 at the same time?

That is the question. Betas aside, I wonder what’s going to happen when they release an iOS 13 GM on 10 Sep. As many here have mentioned, it is very unlikely that 13.1 will be ready for public release by then. So how will we get the final tested build of iOS 13 while on the beta profile, as for now it is offering iOS 13.1 beta 1 to everybody? We could of course delete the beta profile right now and stay on iOS 13.0 beta 8/7 until the official release around 17-20 Sep, but it would still be nice to have a GM.

Why delete the profile? I’m looking right now at a screen where it asks to install 13.1. Seems like I can just NOT click “install now” and keep running iOS 13. Unless I’m missing something.[/

I’m wondering if we will just have to download the Ipsw to get on GM. That would make sense since both 13.1 and beta 8 are on the developer portal. 13 is no longer OTA.

Yes.
There is no reason for Apple to have seeded developers 13.1 beta prior to any 13.0 GM, if there was ever going to be one.

Apple very routinely seeds the GM of a release followed shortly or even immediately by the first beta of the next release. They do not skip the line unless they are not going back. The scary part is that Apple now has to wrap up the GM of 13.1 by the original launch date of 13.0's GM, unless of course the entire release has been delayed...which given the fact that today is August 28th and no invite has gone out for the presumed September 10th event (also the date that the GM would be expected)...everything might be delayed now.

(Listening for heads rolling at the Apple main campus....)

Then I will just wait for the public release in late September, as I do not feel like installing GBs of Xcode on Mojave just to be able to find my iOS devices in iTunes. PB7 runs well enough for me, so not a big deal to run it for 3 more weeks or so.

you will need to delete the beta profile then. Otherwise you will always see updates that are ahead of the official release.

Battery drain is a huge issue. I downloaded 13.1 update last night and Apple Watch drained 40% during the night.
noticed the same thing on my watch today as well... full charge when I left the house, then an hour and a half later it's now down to 87%. Hope it's fixed in the next build.. They did address that issue pretty quick in the 13.0 builds..

my phone downloaded 13.1 - but I turned of auto install and haven't installed it. if I remove the beta profile - will that delete the download? I want to make sure that it doesn't somehow get installed

I think there is also under the settings, in general, and I want to say iPhone storage, the download itself that will manually need to be deleted...

Do a reset of the watch and then restore it from the most recent backup. I had that same watch battery drain issue with a number of the iOS 13 Beta (before 13.1) and doing a reset and restore always fixed the watch battery problem.

Updated my iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro to 13.1 PB. Both went smooth. Haven't encountered any bugs yet but have noticed the performance seemed to have improved to the prior PB. Quite responsive and I'm happy. I'm sure Apple will come out with something with a GM to cover this 13.1 PB.

Just an FYI and cross posted - Installed iOS 13.1 PB and woke up this a.m. to watchOS version 5.3.1 update. Not clear yet if this addresses the battery drain issue.

I would really love if this build would fix the cellular data dropping bug I've been experiencing since beta 6. I'm not sure if it's only on ATT but it's frustrating to have to toggle airplane mode repeatedly to hope internet comes back up.
