Come on now, this is just sad. If the update is less than 100MB it should let you download it without WiFi.

Why do we still have these silly limitations anyway?

Probably because the carriers requested it because they don't want the network traffic of millions of iPhones downloading every .1 release. See, they only want to sell you data plans, they don't want you to actually use them.

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else but since installing beta 4 my speakers, on my iPhone X, when playing YouTube videos are crackly. I have watched several videos and it happens in all of them. Anyone else experiencing this?

It will be interesting to see when will Apple release the final version of iOS 11.2. Will they try to get it out before Thanksgiving? Or wait until just after Thanksgiving?

Wow, thanks!! After several calls to Apple and Verizon, neither of whom could assist, I find this solution here on MacRumors. Can I ask how you came to this fix? Is this a known fix to a problem that has come up previously?

Anyway, no more calls to, ahem, tech support.
Yeah, the same issue came up in beta 3 and that was one of the solutions that seemed to resolve it. Glad it worked for you!

Even sillier is that it still takes ages for a small update like this, I would expect it to take considerable less time to install than a major update but it's slooooowwwww.

Edit: I timed it, 3 seconds to download, then 7 minutes whatever, next 1 minute verifying and after a restart it took another 7 minutes, Total 15 minutes on a 6S about 36.5 MB Update.

Apple software patching technology has reached a high level of development. There were some obstacles, but basically they solved it in a marvellous way with an Apple Retro Software Encabulator. Software Patching process consists simply of six hydrocoptic marzelvanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that sidefumbling is effectively prevented. The main winding is of the normal lotus o-deltoid type placed in panendermic semiboloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the ‘up’ end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescence score motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm to reduce sinusoidal depleneration.

11.2 also introduces Safari updates that should have been standard with the 11.0 release.

The css env(), min() and max() variables are introduced to allow web developers to code around the notch in an intuitive manner. In 11.0 env() was introduced as constant(), but did not permit developers to design a default padding or margin, forcing their gui to the edges when the safe environment is not in use.

Absolutely unbelievable that Apple wouldn't have finalized this code prior to release of 11.0.
Would be nice if the disabled autoplay feature they added to Safari in High Sierra was added to Safari in iOS as well.

Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 11.2 update to developers, four days after releasing the third iOS 11.2 beta, more than two weeks after releasing the first major iOS 11 update, iOS 11.1, and one day after the iOS 11.1.2 update.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 11.2 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

iOS 11.2 introduces Apple Pay Cash, Apple's new peer-to-peer payments service. Apple Pay Cash works through the Messages app and is designed to allow for quick person-to-person money transfers. It's available as a dedicated iMessage app in Messages, with cash transferred through the app.

Cash can be sent from a linked debit or credit card, while received cash is stored in an Apple Pay Cash card in Wallet that can be used for purchases or sent to a bank account.

On the iPhone X, iOS 11.2 adds a small bar underneath the icons located at the upper right side of the device on the Lock screen, which is designed to make the location of the Control Center gesture more clear. On the iPhone X, Control Center is accessed by swiping down from the top of the device.

In Control Center on all devices, there are two new informational pop-ups that are displayed when using the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth toggles. These pop-ups explain that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are disabled temporarily rather than permanently when accessed from Control Center.

In iOS 11.2, there's support for faster 7.5W wireless charging for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. The faster speeds will be available when using third-party wireless chargers that support 7.5W charging or more.

The update also addresses an animation bug in the Calculator app that caused some numbers and symbols to be ignored when entered in rapid succession. The update removes the animations from the calculator app so calculations can be done quickly with no need to pause between entering numbers to obtain the correct result.

In addition to these bug fixes, iOS 11.2 introduces a new Now Playing option for controlling content on the Apple TV in Control Center, redesigned camera emoji, a new loading animation for Live Photos effects, and new Live wallpapers for the iPhone X, plus it adds a feature that lets developers offer new customers discounted introductory pricing for auto-renewable subscriptions on the App Store.

Update: Apple has also seeded a new version of iOS 11.2 to public beta testers.

Apple seriously needs to fix the bug preventing iPhones from connecting to public guest WiFi networks. Since iOS 11, I've been unable to connect to any public WiFi networks. It'll connect, but the webpage to confirm and accept the connection and Terms never comes up. I can't connect to my employee guest network at work, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc. Most people i talk to have the same issue (including everyone in my household).
For me, this only happens when I'm in beta, especially on iOS 10 beta in the past. The pop up never shows up, tried reset everything but still didn't solve my problem. The official release don't have this problem.

I’ve done that plenty of times. I’ve even reset my network settings and even erased all content and settings and set up as a new iPhone. The problem always returns.
I’m definitely not having this issue as I get the login/usage page in Safari popping up when logging into an open guest network.

Is there a list from Apple that says exactly what bugs are addressed? Apologize if someone has posted. I just got home from an over night shift at work... The phone app bug was pretty irritating but beta 3 appeared stable otherwise.
[doublepost=1511020262][/doublepost]Edit: just downloaded, and the phone app is still NOT working. That’s a little irritating since it is a smartPHONE and I can’t dial numbers out. How many of you guys are also having issues with phone app?

What is your problem with the phone app? It's working fine for me for both dialling from contacts and manually entering numbers. iPhone 6s.

So my iPad Pro running 11.2 think's it is "Cloudy and 2:00pm" in the weather widget, and my iPhone X running 11.1.2 thinks that it is "Sunny and 6:00pm". Well, I have news. . . . Sunset right now in Seattle is at like 4:15pm, and I haven't seen the sun in almost a week now. I'm sure this will get fixed at some point, right? Right?

It gets stuck on a blank screen when I open the app and won’t let me switch around the phone app UI like contacts to recents, etc. and visual voicemail is not working. I believe it is affecting only the 7 Plus users for whatever reason. Here’s a screen shot:

Battery life was great on beta 2 but has been awful on beta 3. Hopefully it’ll be better again with beta 4.

I felt the same but so far with PB4, its been much better at sipping battery. I did do a complete discharge, unpowered recharge, and then power and home button reset once fully charged.

PB3 had done this weird "you're out of battery" power down at like 40% then allowed me to power back on and stream video content at full brightness for around 45 minutes while telling me I still had 10%. o_O

Erm.... guess you're right.:D

I think more things in the background happens than we think.
Once, my iPad was installing an update, and after the installation was done, the build number did not update: the update failed. Yet the system remained functional.
I think it creates some type of snapshot of the current system to be able to revert back if during the update there is an issue.

Must be, I think it will create a whole new OS and starts up with it after a integrity check, if it fails it will revert to the old OS.

That's the temp fix mentioned earlier in the thread. I had exactly the same problem on my 8+.
I phoned EE who claim it was a problem affecting users with an apple watch lte synced.
They haven't given a date for a fix.

Putting the phone in airplane mode for 30 seconds solved it for me.
Had to do it once more since too.

Ah, voicemail - not something I use very ofter so rarely visit that tab... I get the same fairly blank screen with the call voicemail button but I'm on a carrier that doesn't support visual voicemail so this is about all I've ever seen on that screen. Don't seem to be getting any issues with the UI sticking though.

Have you tried enabling airplane mode for bit as you are opening the Phone app and then disabling it, as has been suggested before?

Installation was surprisingly slow for me also.
Can’t wait for the upcoming Doddle Emulator.

It would seem that blank pages on returning to Safari are back for me. Haven’t had that for a few weeks.
