Windows 10 is supposed to run better than all old windows. I expect the same from iOS 11.
I only have one data point but my 5 year old 8-thread i7 Windows 10 machine is slower than my 10 year old Mac Mini!

Will be interesting to see if my bug reports have been acted upon by final release. At least one I have been reporting since iOS 8.
The only reply I have had so far was when I sarcastically put “Hello. Does anyone read this stuff!?” It was about an accessibility issue so I think they had to respond really.

For you maybe, for many of us, myself included, it has been terrible.

My iPhone 7’s battery life has just tanked with the two latest betas - especially the last one I can almost sit and watch the numbers fall faster than minutes - even with no apps running and the phone in battery saving mode. I mean yeah I expect a fair share of errors with these betas (camera launching on half the screen once in a while and even build in apps crashing like Photos etc.) but come on?! This is the 11th major release on the 10th anniversary of the iPhone - massive battery issues shouldn’t be part of the betas when it’s been great with iOS 10

Mine is exactly like yours. Strange that Apple would have two different icons, unless it has something to do with localization in regards to different reading direction.

For the Contacts and Reminders apps, there are two different variants: one for left-to-right languages (like English) and another one for right-to-left languages (Arabic, Hebrew). But it really is strange that these icons are displayed incorrectly on beta 4, which has never been an issue before. It even differs from device to device: On my iPad the Contacts icon is displayed correctly, while the Reminders icon uses the right-to-left variant. On my iPhone however, both icons use the RTL layout.

Are you joking?
My battery life (on PB1 & PB2) has been basically normal, except for the occasional out-of-control process that kills it. But on a day-to-day basis, I'm seeing 12+ hours on a charge of my 5th Gen iPad. But it seems like the experience is highly variable between people.

it may be because I now looked at the icons more carefully, but both the Notes and the Reminders icons seem likely carelessly cropped versions of a more complete image :D

Is anyone running this on an iPhone 6S+? I am terrified Apple will "optimise" the experience for me
by slowing my amazing phone to a crawl to "encourage" me to update to a 7S+ or 8...

Please guys, I am panicking. Someone assure me it runs like a dream! I cannot afford any updated tech!

Apple has not shunned out devices 3 generations out. My 4S still ran like a champ until being 5 years old and 5 iOS versions ahead. I can see iOS 11 still run perfectly fine on my iPhone 6+ and my iPhone 7+. It obviously wont run the same because the older phone will have more to do, but it wont PURPOSELY slow your phone to a crawl. If you are worried about that, don't upgrade your OS?

New features usually require more performance FYI

Hard to tell. If your 10 year old windows 10 box slower than the original operating system? Windows 2000 to me was the fastest o/s of all. I would think this Difficult to compare with another device.

Keep in mind there is extra fluff on these builds for logging and information that is going to make it seem slower than what the general release will be. The 6 wasn't really a rockstar back in its day either so I wouldn't be surprised its running a bit slow. Probably be better on non-beta releases.
I just updated my 5s to 11b4. It runs more snappily than what I remember iOS 7 to be. I’m typing this on my 5s, very nice indeed.

My AirPods are quite loud in beta 4. As for the AppStore this is what I see when I scroll a bit.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus. Would you guys recommend me trying out the beta now? I didn't want to do it when the beta first came out but now that it's this far, would you guys recommend updating? This is my only phone and I use it for email and phone calls for work. I don't mind a few bugs here and there.

AirPod "double-tap" controls allow multiple options for left and right ears again. That was missing for me in Beta 3. Very happy!

Should be fine. Be sure to do an iTunes backup. Good luck.

Be careful. Make a backup. My iPad has really intermittent wifi access on PB3, and so I've been waiting two weeks for another release to fix it. I have to reboot it every time I put it to sleep or it never connects to wifi again after it wakes up. This isn't a guaranteed issue, but there's no way to know what issues you'll run into. Decide if you can accept that level of instability.

That said, with DB4, we're probably starting to look at builds that are free of huge show-stopper bugs. Still, it's always a risk. If you're not using it for dev purposes, wait until the next public beta or the one after that maybe.

Absolutely. Go for it.
