They changed how it works in iOS 11. Swipe up from the bottom to get the dock, (but don’t swipe too far or you get Control Center) then drag the wanted app icon to the side.

I discovered that, too - but what to do if I want to multitask with an app on my iPad, but not in my dock? Isn't that easily possible anymore without having to open the second, not-docked app first? (which I preferably would like to have on the right, not on the left)

Yeah, same. I can't remember a worse beta, even beta 1s.
This is the least consistent set of betas that I've ever seen. It used to be that the experience was a little more uniform for people. Everyone had bad battery life, instability, etc. This beta has been all over the place. PB1 was amazing on my 5th gen iPad for almost everything. PB2 broke wifi, so I get random dropouts all the time and overnight, it would lose connection and never find the network again—but I seem to be the only one with this issue. But other people have issues with battery life (mine's been great; 12-14 hours on a charge) or app crashing, or springboard crashing.

I dunno what the deal is, but everyone has issues, and everyone's issues seem to be different.

Anyone have camera problems? I haven't had a camera work since Beta 2. Not really sure what the issue is. Can I be the only one?
You mean the application opening? Or trying to take a photo/video and it crashes? Past betas had some issues in the camera application during photo editing. However this was corrected in B4.

Very true. To be fair however, Feedback Assistant provides the necessary tools to provide suggestion-based feedback. But I suppose we could be semantic about it ;)

That'd not a bug report, though. That's a feature request. And I doubt they meant to do that. It's not just semantics, it's an important distinction.

Is anyone running this on an iPhone 6S+? I am terrified Apple will "optimise" the experience for me
by slowing my amazing phone to a crawl to "encourage" me to update to a 7S+ or 8...

Please guys, I am panicking. Someone assure me it runs like a dream! I cannot afford any updated tech!
The public beta brought my iPhone 6 to an almost unusable slow speed. Runs fine on the iPad Pro so I am guessing that Apple is trying to force iPhone 6 users to upgrade the hardware.

Hmm - my Contacts is the other direction?

Amazing how many folks are asking about this beta's battery life or stability. What are people supposed to say? "Installed an hour ago and battery not dead yet!"

Is there anyone else with iPhone 6s and iOS 11 beta having a truncated keyboard in the landscape mode?

I have this issue since beta1.

Use the feedback app in iOS 11 to report this. The app will walk you through the steps needed to submit the bug, including uploading screenshots.

I cannot find that app on iOS beta
Can you download that app?

Whaaa? iPhone 6 came out with iOS 8. Why in the world would you install iOS 11 on it? That's like trying to put Windows 10 on a laptop you bought in 1995 that originally had Windows 3.1 installed by default.

Windows 10 is supposed to run better than all old windows. I expect the same from iOS 11.

Keep in mind there is extra fluff on these builds for logging and information that is going to make it seem slower than what the general release will be. The 6 wasn't really a rockstar back in its day either so I wouldn't be surprised its running a bit slow. Probably be better on non-beta releases.

iOS 11 is compatible with iPhones going all the way back to the iPhone 5s. Apple works hard to ensure that iOS runs on as many legacy devices as possible. It's entirely reasonable to expect the newest version of iOS to run well on a three-year-old device.

Swipe to close notifications is back! YES! (on iPad, at least)

EDIT: and iPhone!
Daft question, PB user here, but can you long press and get touchID on a notification?

I’m an SE user and the swipe being back is cool, the Long press to touchID would be cooler ;)
