iina almost certainly needs updates, as it uses ffmpeg for playback, also for me edge/chrome use several hundred % cpu for 4k hdr? I only get low cpu usage with 4k ( but no hdr yet ) in safari.

Though in edge youtube is finally not buggering up the tonemapping on HDR, though interestingly it makes the hdr playing youtube tab a much darker shade overall, chrome still is messing it up.

Don't like beta 4. Downgrading to beta 3 again. It broke Reflector. Mirroring my ipad to the mac gives a black screen in beta 4. Hope it is fixed in beta 5. Or maybe Airsquirrels will update Reflector.

No. thanks. I've been sick of flat design ever since iOS 7 and OS X Yosemite. We've been flat longer than we've been skeuomorphic. I'm welcoming the latter's return. Design exists in cycles anyway. Skeuo would have catapulted us into the holographic by now if not for us regressing back to the days of Amiga Workbench and Tandy Deskmate.

The battery symbol here is not skeuomorphic, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Can someone test if the MacBook Pro 16" with 5300m or 5500M still draws 20W+ if the MacBook has been connected to an external screen?

With a sad heart I can confirm 4K YouTube works in Safari, gone are the days I could enjoy peoples screams and suffering on the internets, at the lack of 4K YouTube. Guess I need to find a new purpose in life now.
I don’t understand what so big deal about 4K on YouTube there’s so many other places to watch 4K

Well I hope your login all the bugs you find because that’s betas are all about

Curious to know which Macs support the 4K videos in YouTube. If I remember correctly, VP9 support was not added until Skylake, which means at least late 2016 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac.

Everything is so much faster in this Beta. No crashes so far.

Mail attachments now working again.

Also, we don't all live in Cupertino anymore!

Drag and drop a 4k YouTube video URL onto IINA

I believe if you see videotoolbox being used either in activity monitor or within iina (Cmd + i) that should show it!

that being said IINA may not be updated for this yet

If videotoolbox is being used by safari during playback that should show OS level support for hardware acceleration

sorry the forum isn't allowing me to embed this link

Just checked with IINA - It still reports as 'No Hardware' - but as you guessed, maybe IINA needs an update.

That might explain why i didn't recognize the place where i woke up this morning.

I'm happy to read you all reporting many bug fixes with beta 4 and i believe Big Sur is gonna be a Big Surcces, the criticisms the Catalina beta's faced were severe and nothing of that seems to be the case this year.

I wouldn't be surprised that Catalina was a quick side project and that Apple had been working for much longer on Big Sur.

Has anyone got problems with connecting to the internet with the latest release? I had it briefly with Beta3 but resolved it and now have the same with Beta4 which I can’t seem to resolve?

Hi. Tried to install beta 4 today and stuck with this error. Tried booting from USB with no avail. Same was with beta 3. Anyone encountered similar problem?
