They said it today by not releasing a Public Beta.

Today Apple pushed the latest iOS 9 build to public beta testers and developers at the same time.

For El Cap, it looks like public beta testers will be getting the latest build at a later date than the developers.

However Apple's actions today show that they may release the latest builds for public beta and developer testers at the same time. Obviously no policy against this.

Is there a link to the update? My store account isn't working right now.

Scratch that, started working.

The direct links were briefly on the apple developer forums but have since been deleted. They might go up there again later.

We can't post them on macrumors forums though because that would be against macrumors rules.

Yeah, they are SIP related, although I don't know if the developers will be able to get around the SIP limitations as they currently exist. The biggest issue for me is writing to NTFS drives. If SIP prevents third parties from accessing this level, Apple had better integrate it or I'll be one of those "I can't move the the latest OS" guys.

Are you referring to Paragon's NTFS driver? If yes, the issue is because they're writing to the wrong locations. They just need to release an update to install to the SIP-friendly extension folder, update their installer, and that should be enough.

SIP doesn't prevent custom system extensions, it just prevents them in the specific system folders.

A so obvious bug like Finder side bar and they haven't fixed it yet??...so what's the point in realeasing this Preview anyway?

First, the Developer Betas are for developers to test API related changes, it is not a look at the latest codebase. Cosmetic bugs like Finder's sidebar issues will be fixed but they're not prioritized to be fixed in the next beta, just sometime before the final GM build after they finish with the API breakages.

Hope Apple has given us a way to opt-out of the "Massive Size Pointer" feature that seems super-annoying with inability to disable...doesn't seem like you can turn it off in Mouse, Trackpad, or Accessibility Control Panels. or in Finder Prefs either!!
downloading can u guys pause all ur download and tell people to pause their download i want this to download fast for me
once im done downloaidng it, ill say it so everyone can start downloaidng again
Ahahaha, firstly I doubt anyone would, secondly it would make no difference because not many of the developers are checking this site... I can't believe what I just read...

It's most likely your connection anyway, their servers are able to handle pretty fast speeds...

It really screwed up iStat Menus for me. Worked fine before the update. Now the System Wifi and Clock are LEFT of iStat Menu and I can't move the WIFI and clock over to the right by apple OR option click and drag. They just POOF away only.

Are you running the latest iStat menus 5.11 beta?
In El Capitan you can only decide to have all Apple icons left or right (iStat menus settings -> Combined/Order tab) because of the System Integrity Protection.

I'm back using Yosemite, and will stay here. I don't like that cursor zoom at all, it is super-annoying! I barely shake my mouse and it looks like my cursor is doing Super Mario mushrooms. It's so bad I can't use the OS. Total flop. i will pass for now (unless somebody has a fix to disable the feature, which would be awesome!!)

I really don't get these complaints. I have my trackpad sensitivity all the way up and it takes effort for me to bring up the bigger cursor. Like, almost too much effort for it to be useful.

Ask the third party to finally fix their act and stop trying to install to a location that since forever has been clearly and openly documented as system-only. I don't see how Apple is to blame if a third-party dev is blatantly ignoring their documentation. This is bound to happen earlier or later.

Better yet, install the kext manually and load it yourself until they fix the problem with the installer.

Is the improvement from Metal visible in ordinary everyday use?

There are some clear improvements (e.g. Mission Control), but they are most likely due to a complete rewrite of that feature and not due to Metal. Window resizing in general is much smoother though.

You are are talking about a MacBook trackpad...I am talking about a Logitech M500 Laser Mouse on a 27" iMac, it really is a problem with the cursor zoom, I barely wobble it around and the cursor becomes huge. It's insanely stupid.

Not correct in respect of iOS on today's update at least.

Show me where Apple have said PBs and Devs cannot receive the same update at the same times.

I think Yosemite only had 2 or 3 public betas. They do not get updated at the same time.

A so obvious bug like Finder side bar and they haven't fixed it yet??...so what's the point in realeasing this Preview anyway?

There is a bug backlog, they are working though it. Trivial and obvious bugs like that are usually very low on the priority list. There are massive under the hood changes every time a DP is released, as parts of system libraries are being redesigned. So the engineers have a lot of more important things to do at this point than to fix cosmetic issues. But don't worry, it will be fixed eventually.

Can anybody please check if you can rotate pictures in Photos with gestures, just like in good old iPhoto?

Rotating pictures is just terrible now - one direction under right-click, other direction in "Edit" menu, which you quit upon deleting any picture. Unless you learn keyboard shortcut, you're screwed. So Windows-like.

I'm seeing with improvements more of a visual perspective than anything...

Yes, there is security stuff going on under the hood, but its probably more visual enhancements.

Which reminds me, I should test of this in VM. :D

I am not impressed with Disk Utility, particularly on creating partitions. The old Disk Utility was far better.

I tend to agree. Particularly that new pie chart type display doesnt help. Much rather the old disk utility when resizing partitions or doing any basic disk maintenance.
