I guess the people that are always so scared of upgrading their OS will be stuck on Snow Leopard for decades. Their loss.

As for the update, I'm all for bug fixes.. i've said in the past I'd love for Apple to take a year and just work on bugs/fine tuning than constantly adding features.

You think they've released 4 betas of a x.x.1 update on emojis?
Nope, I think they think most of their users will find emojis updates significant enough that they won't have to fix the really big underlaying problems that are being ignored, or the really stupid problems that they have to fix, but don't want to document because it would make them look really bad.

Hmm... devolution. Wonderful.

Quite the opposite, evolution requires simplicity.
Example. "Save" became the disk icon. One universal "character" to indicate a verb otherwise requiring 4 character (in english) and translations in other languages.
Older languages are usually very complex, with several characters and long words just to express simple concepts.
I am not a fan of emoji (I prefer emoticons), but I see where this is going... and I am a voracious reader.

If your criteria for upgrades revolves around people complaining on Apple's support forums - you will never be able to upgrade! The said forums are always full of people reporting bugs, because that's what they are for. People who don't experience bugs don't write about it.

Myself, I found El Capitan a noticeable improvement without any compatibility issues. It's great.

So your view is that you have not encountered any bugs and are happy - thus everyone else is only imagining bugs and should be happy ? El Capitan is the worst "upgrade" OS I have experienced. Apple trackpad will not function, web surfing is slooooow, some applications are also slow to load. Your experience is different - good for you - don't discount that others are having a different experience.

I like how Apple FINALLY fixed the font for the Help Menu which has long been an annoyance of mine - 'how could this be missed for 4? OS releases???'.

However, the spacing is STILL screwed up.

Guess I'll have to wait another 4 OS upgrades for that to be addressed.

I've had a system freeze every time on start-up on Mac Pro Desktop since 15B30a, so will be interesting to see if this new release fixes that. (I would do a power off, and restart -- second time worked fine.)
Hi, I'm glad to see someone else with this issue, which I have sent 'feedback' on a couple of times. My fix is, once the install hangs at a black screen and a moveable cursor, I power down and restart in Safe Boot mode. I need to log in, and then the install continues for 5 - 6 minutes. Once it is complete, I can then reboot in normal mode. I was starting to wonder if it was a glitch in my machine (iMac 27 5K)

There is simply nothing wrong with running OS X Snow Leopard. Behind El Capitan it is the finest release of OS X. There are many Mac users that choose to work with Snow Leopard and its not for you to decide they should be doing otherwise!

Something similar happened on my MBP with beta3, during boot it would go black for almost a minute and would then continue the boot.

After reading a lot of good things about the refinements, and still not having seen any negative reports about or problems with El Cap, perhaps it's safe to jump from Yosemite soon?

How I see it is that it is unsafe to stay on Yosemite any longer than strictly required. El Cap is way more stable and faster despite some issues.

Yes, this might be true but you don't go to work horseback right?

Funny, did you see that your post jumped from #25 to #113?

Edit: now the missing post in-between are back again; taking about bugs......

I don't like bugs, I'm not into beta testing. I don't run betas. I eagerly check these threads to find out how it's going, knowing that ultimately, I'm not doing beta work and am happy when the final product comes along. Oh, plus, I wait until the X.X.1 release for new OS's. Betas and early releases are what they are, important and vital steps, but they are the cutting edge. That being said, if people want to have the most stability and least potential for headaches, then be like me and wait. Yes, that means that we have to wait, but that is the price that we take for avoiding headaches. There was something about both possessing and consuming cake.

I really cannot wait until this emoji fad is over...

I really cannot wait for people with a superiority complex stop bashing a silly feature that contributes to product adoption among customers, driving up revenue and AAPL prices.

Get over it. ::middle finger::

Not necessarily scared, more likely newer OS versions don't offer anything worthwhile to bother upgrading. I would still use only Snow Leopard but unfortunately some software I need requires Mavericks. While its too early to say for sure I am not certain El Capitan will be as solid as Snow Leopard is.

I notice this latest beta has (for me) fixed the issue where I would have a hard time picking up my WiFi upon being awakened from sleep.
However, it has not fixed an issue I had starting with the last beta where the whole system will often crash and restart itself when awakened (this is on my MacBook Pro; I've left my Mini on Yosemite).
I report all problems in Feedback Assistant, I'm just curious if anyone else has been having this crashing when awakened from sleep issue?
