Where have you been? There are major problems with SMTP settings. After reading a lot of good things about the refinements, and still not having seen any negative reports about or problems with El Cap, perhaps it's safe to jump from Yosemite soon?

Nope, I think they think most of their users will find emojis updates significant enough that they won't have to fix the really big underlaying problems that are being ignored, or the really stupid problems that they have to fix, but don't want to document because it would make them look really bad.You think they've released 4 betas of a x.x.1 update on emojis?
+1 for me. After the iPad Pro replaces the Macbook, we will have enough emojis that we won't have to use words anymore. You know words are so last decade. Is there a Bacon Emoji in there?
Au is much better. My Nektar P6 midi drivers still are not working correctly.Any word on audio fixes (AU plugins, drivers) with this version?
Hmm... devolution. Wonderful.
All of my email had to be reindexed. Seemed to go OK. Hope this was part of the update.
If your criteria for upgrades revolves around people complaining on Apple's support forums - you will never be able to upgrade! The said forums are always full of people reporting bugs, because that's what they are for. People who don't experience bugs don't write about it.
Myself, I found El Capitan a noticeable improvement without any compatibility issues. It's great.
Hi, I'm glad to see someone else with this issue, which I have sent 'feedback' on a couple of times. My fix is, once the install hangs at a black screen and a moveable cursor, I power down and restart in Safe Boot mode. I need to log in, and then the install continues for 5 - 6 minutes. Once it is complete, I can then reboot in normal mode. I was starting to wonder if it was a glitch in my machine (iMac 27 5K)I've had a system freeze every time on start-up on Mac Pro Desktop since 15B30a, so will be interesting to see if this new release fixes that. (I would do a power off, and restart -- second time worked fine.)
There is simply nothing wrong with running OS X Snow Leopard. Behind El Capitan it is the finest release of OS X. There are many Mac users that choose to work with Snow Leopard and its not for you to decide they should be doing otherwise!I guess the people that are always so scared of upgrading their OS will be stuck on Snow Leopard for decades. Their loss.
As for the update, I'm all for bug fixes.. i've said in the past I'd love for Apple to take a year and just work on bugs/fine tuning than constantly adding features.

The Mail issue will hopefully be resolved with the upcoming 10.11.1Where have you been? There are major problems with SMTP settings.
Thanks for that reassurance. Exactly the take-away I had from the many reviews that are out there. When the dust settles after El Cap's hopefully soon .1 release, we'll update. How I see it is that it is unsafe to stay on Yosemite any longer than strictly required. El Cap is way more stable and faster despite some issues.
I really cannot wait until this emoji fad is over...
