So your view is that you have not encountered any bugs and are happy - thus everyone else is only imagining bugs and should be happy ? El Capitan is the worst "upgrade" OS I have experienced. Apple trackpad will not function, web surfing is slooooow, some applications are also slow to load. Your experience is different - good for you - don't discount that others are having a different experience.

I believe he was saying that you may not experience the issues reported by someone else on the forum. Case in point: I have been using El Capitan betas from day one and have not experienced any of the issues you identified. In other words, your issues are real; but not everyone will experience them. So, the best you can expect from reading the forums is to be informed of others experience. This does not mean you will experience those issues. That was the poster's point.

Also, Tim Cook is nothing like Steve Balmer. Balmer drove a successful company to the brink of irrelevance. In contrast, Tim Cook built the global logistics machine that made Apple relevant. Steve Jobs knew this -- which is why he named Tim Cook his successor. Apple would not be the Apple of today without Tim Cook. Please respect the man for his substantial accomplishments and contributions.

No, my point of view is that complaints in Apple Support Forums are not an indication of quality of El Capitan. The happy majority doesn't write there. That's all.

And I haven't seen your issues on any of 4 Macs I use (2011 Mac mini, 2012 iMac, 2013 13" rMBP, 2014 15" rMBP).

Sorry to tell you but i have not encountered any bugs to and that from the first El Capitan beta on,
the weird thing is that i am using Photoshop, illustrator, bridge, indesign, muse (all CC) and office 2011
ext....and there was no problem with them despite lots of reported problems. So don't say "everyone else" and talk about "imagining".
There are more people with no problems.

That seems to be the case here. Running MS Office 2016 on this latest 10.11.1 beta appears to be very stable, and crash free (so far). I left Word, Excel, and OneNote running overnight, and they actually still worked this morning. Prior to this latest beta (even with the latest MS patch), the office apps would continually hang overnight (or during heavy use), and require a force quit. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the winning combo.
The same to me. It run overnight, everything is ok. Hope no bug with office. Because I need it do business

Here is EXACTLY what he said:

"After reading a lot of good things about the refinements, and still not having seen any negative reports about or problems with El Cap, perhaps it's safe to jump from Yosemite soon?"

I provided a link outlining problems with El Cap - there are many issues / problems / bugs / whatever listed in various forums.

Why are you sorry to tell me? You have not experienced any problems - others have.

Perhaps you are referring to using Quick Look in one of the Spaces and having it follow to another Space but closing the Quick Look causes the display to jump back to the first Space in which Quick Look was accessed.

It is my opinion that the problem with HP and its funky scanner function (frequently losing the wireless connection to the computer) is due to HP and not Apple.
Possibly but HP Drivers are included and updated within OSX

there seems to be an issue with the HD 5100 (late 2013 / mid 2014 models) ... Just tried with a 2015 model as well and I can confirm as well that there's no issues...
Same here, Macbook Pro Retina 13" Late 2013 (and HD5100 obviously).
Very annoying issue for me....

I have never been reluctant to installing a beta preview by Apple.

Today I am.

Yosemite has at least 30 bugs, reported by me, STILL open. And about another 1000 bugs reported by others STILL open.

And I dont even dare mention El Cap !

Personally I've found El Capitan to be a colossal mess, but I felt the same about Yosemite too. Neither are right or stable, nor is Safari in either.

Of all the problems I've had... Bluetooth / iPhone connect issues not fixed. Bluetooth just dies when connecting an iPhone occasionally, iPhone disappears from iPhoto, iTunes, all Bluetooth connections lost. This is an unbelievable mess. I believe this is because Apple is testing on only the latest Bluetooth Macs, not the ones they're certifying Yosemite or El Capitan for, hence older than the latest Bluetooth systems. You shouldn't qualify a Mac for an operating system if it doesn't WORK! UGH!

MAIL program on both corrupts your mail database if you have many MAIL accounts, usable even in El Capitan. On Yosemite, it won't corrupt on the latest Final release so that's safe, but it's like Apple made the same mistake not once but TWICE! If you have mission critical EMAIL for work or personal and don't want to lose it skip the El Capitan beta or you'll be in as Steve Jobs once famously said, "a bag o' hurt."

Double Sided USB still not supported. Shaking my head on that one.

Apple ID, iCloud, & iTunes issues. Complete lack of ability to sign into the accounts after installation of El Capitan.

Yosemite boot screen issues. If you have a Mac Pro with multiple displays, Yosemite is still confused which is your Master boot screen, hence you get a BLANK screen on it instead of LOG-IN. This has never been fixed and never will be. This is sorta of fixed in El Capitan, but keep in mind, if you're using HDMI connections, your boot screen is BLANK, BOTH of THEM, during booting at times. This can go on for many minutes during installation. Forget ever using BOOT-OPTION KEY to pick a boot drive. You'll never even see the screen if you're using HDMI. It's like flying blind.

Speed? Boot times in Mavericks are still faster than BOTH, although El Capitan might make you feel like you're close to Mavericks again, but not really. Mavericks is still faster and more stable than both.

ADVICE? WAIT A LONG TIME! Mavericks is still better/faster. If Apple fixes the above problems ever, I'd consider. I'm posting this on Yosemite btw only because my Mavericks partition does not have recent updates to my machine and important documents I need, but I'm seriously thinking of downgrading honestly.

You are so right. Apple completely dropped the ball on this one. It's as if El Capitan is basically a bug fix for a failed release of Yosemite. IT'S SO SLOOOOOOW, you'll be grinding your teeth if you've used Mavericks or anything previous and I'm talking even on a MAC PRO!

If you download an Apple Public Beta and file a report, even with the Feedback Assistant, I've noticed, it's like one of 3 people that always keep responding for more info. Now keep in mind, I'm including all the SYS docs, Bluetooth crash data, SYS report, everything the program asks for and even with screen shots of the problems, and as far as I can tell, the only problem I've reported to Apple that has been fixed has been the WIFI issues. I haven't seen much about that lately, but the other issues are all still there.

The MAIL update corruption in El Capitan makes it completely unusable for me. Can't send mail on some accounts. Can't receive on some others. Account info/names corrupted. Just a total FUBAR.
I've wiped 3 El Capitan partitions already because they're almost useless.
NO iTUNES, NO MAIL, NO ICLOUD, NO MESSENGER, NO APPLE ID. STILL BLUETOOTH ISSUES. :-(

I agree.

Mavericks is clearly faster than Yosemite on all Macs I have tested. While El Capitan is somewhat faster than Yosemite it still lags behind Mavericks.

Given the number of bugs in Yosemite that very fixed in El Capitan it has potential to be what Yosemite should have been IF Apple fixes its bugs and keeps updating it long enough. At this point I'm planning going back to Mavericks into foreseeable future...

Installing,,,about a minute
10 minutes later
Installing...about a minute

So tired of this. Come on Apple, fix this, get an accurate countdown

first time on these forums, mainly because in the 10+ years I've been using Macs, I never had serious problems, i.e. issues which would have a strong impact on the functionality of the machine(s). As soon as I updated my Macbook Retina, my external card reader (by Lexar) stopped working. You can imagine how can that affect a professional photographer in the field. Contacted Lexar, they said to "wait until Apple fixes it". Considering the amount of photographers who uses Apple products, and how many of them deal constantly with USB devices, you would think it's a minor but somehow important bug to fix. Hopefully 10.11.1 will solve that.

Upgrading to .0 release of a new OS is not something a professional that relies on a working system should be doing.
