Password lock the e-mail app..

I just wish if Apple can allow the mail app the passcode lock feature. This is the only reason that I jailbreak. Please Apple..

Yep, I am sending this from my WiFi iPad connected to the hotspot on 4.3 :)

You are so full of lies. I have tethering on my account, 4.3 on my phone, hotspot does NOT work. It cannot get DHCP from AT&T's network. Not enabled.

just updated my 3GS to the New beta to see the new hotspot feature in action ... bummer, no WIFI option - just USB and Bluetooth, as it was with the previous tethering feature. http://www.flickr.com/photos/taxflickr/5349972631/

looks like I'll have to stick to my Huawei modem to go online with my (wifi only-)iPad on the road (T-Mobile in Austria doesn't restrict the tethering feature without extra charging for it ... )

Can anyone confirm this, please? If this is true, it's a disappointment, although it doesn't surprise me at all.

Haven't tested this myself, but a co-worker downloaded iOS 4.3 and was able to use personal hotspot on his iPhone with his Wi-Fi iPad in Canada (on Bell). However here, tethering is included with all data plans.

Slight change with the update of apps.

4th pic - after risking $1.19! :)

iPhone 3G came out July 2008, and 2.5 years is a long time in tech world.

iPhone 3G was still sold as a new phone 7 months ago. That's not a very long time.

Phones didn't use to be user updateable, and now that they are, people assume it will be like it is with computers. It's always been normal to use the latest OS on a 5-year old computer. Now you can't use the latest software in a 9 month old smartphone (if iOS 4.3. is out in March). I guess there are people who bought a 3G with a 2-year contract in last June. They must be thrilled.

I decided to skip iP4, and my 3G is 2 yrs 6 months old. But I still feel a bit like a victim of Apple using dated hardware on the 3G.

What's up with $1.19? That's not the price of any app.

Also, does this actually add anything for iPhone 4 owners? Besides the hotspot.

That Facetime icon is quite awful.

Well, by itself I think it looks ok, and is distinct from other icons (unlike the sea of blue Apple has filled my Mac Dock with :p ). But it makes no sense whatsoever. A camera with two lenses, one pointing right and one pointing out? Either symbol (camera side-view or camera lens) makes sense... but together??

In Aussie, Aperture is $99.99 in Mac App Store, Angry Birds HD is $5.99 in iPad.

Have you checked the exchange rate lately? It's 1 AUD for 0.99 USD. How ridiculous does that sound to you?

time to upgrade i suppose..

We had good time :)

Well while I agree having the newest and greatest is good, I don't condemn iPhone 3G. It can do a lot more things than many other current blackberry and nokia devices out there! =)

P.S. My friend just sold his iPhone 4 in favour to his iPhone 3G. Now this is a rather bold move...

That sucks.... I've heard a lot about people in Australia getting screwed when it comes to purchases. Video games and stuff.

does anyone know if a udid on file for 4.2 will still be on file for 4.3? or Will I have to reregister it?

On the other hand, tethering with no additional cost and no upfront fees for iPhones (only pay your $50 a month for 2 year contract).

So I guess we have some ups and downs.

Oh damn. I'd take that over paying a little more for stuff! That's awesome!
