Don't know if you're alone in that regard, but I am definitely not with you. Big, big functionality coming in 4.3: App developers will be able to utilize AirPlay to stream their apps to Apple TV. Think of the possibilities:

--My MLB app can send its video to my big screen.

--NetFlix directly from the iPad to your TV

--50" Angry Birds!

Possibilities are endless. This is HUGE!

I'm with you, I can't wait to beam MLB games to my TV.

However, HomeSharing is probably the most impressive feature for me. I have an enormous library on my MacPro which is constantly turned on, and now I can beam everything to every device in the house. The artwork, the descriptions, everything looks great.

I would like to be able to stream it over 3G though as most of the time I'm listening to my iPhone I'm away from home. Anyone think someone will write a Cydia tweak for this?

Sitting in a coffee shop I get almost 3mb hotspot sharing while on a conf call. Try that on a Verizon IP4.

The claims about Javascript being faster are no exaggeration: I just tried the SunSpider benchmarks on 2 iPads. They are both 32GB WiFi, but one has 4.2.1 on it and the other has 4.3 GM on it.

The total SunSpider time on the 4.2.1. iPad is 8292.3ms and on the one with 4.3 it is 3392.3ms, which is nearly 3 times faster!

On top of that, safari seems to load pages faster in general

It's fair to say that Safari is much snappier ;)

So far, this is looking like a great update

Using 4.3, if your iPhone is not in "silent" mode, and your sms sounds are turn off, does it still make a noise when you send an sms? This was a bug in 4.2.1 that I hope they addressed. Someone please verify? Thanks :)

If you are actually a licensed developer you would be able to see why it doesn't work on more sites :p

The reason is web developers have to add airplay="allow" to <embed> tags or x-webkit-airplay="allow" to <video> tags

http://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/ios/#releasenotes/General/RN-iOSSDK-4_3/_index.html

Annoying :(

Annoying, but it took me all but 5 seconds to implement on a very heavy video site I worked for until I was laid off a month ago (I just now logged in and changed their scripts, so site wide all their 1000s of movies now work on AppleTV, literally took less than 5 seconds.).

Regarding multitouch gestures on the iPad, the option is gone in the GM, and they weren't working. But when I restored from a backup of 4.3 B2 that had them enabled, they were working again.

Can anybody confirm if the hotspot function works for the 3Gs?
In the keynote the mentioned only the iPhone 4, but in the betas the 3Gs worked fine with it.

As far as I know WiFi hotspot functionality never worked on iPhone 3GS in 4.3 betas.

This time, it's really a hardware problem, the wifi chip in the 3GS and the one in the iPhone 4 are different, some adhoc thing i can't recall now.
Not really... It was working just fine on a previous beta.

In 4.3 beta 3 on iPhone 3GS the personal hotspot works only with Bluetooth or USB. The same functionality is in the current 4.3 GM. Which is perfectly fine with me, since it uses less battery than WiFi and I can still connect iMac or iPad with iPhone 3GS and share the Internet. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Why is everyone so quick to loose the JB and tethering options? Get ready to loose any unlimited data plan if you want to tether you new iPad next week. Oh, and give ATT more money for less data.

Unless the JB shows sooner than expected of course.

4.3 looks good w/the homesharing, but giving up too much IMO.
