My only complaint is that they can't even get the damn date right.

Really apple, a date field with a fill in the blank that wasn't updated? Shouldn't this be autofilled when you hit submit?

I hope the Bluetooth issues are resolved in 5.1, especially where the connection drops in the carkit! Can anyone confirm if Bluetooth issues have been fixed? Thanks.

guys, please could any1 add my iPhone to the dev list meanwhile the full 5.1 wont be released, please? I can donate some bucks if necessary, but the only reason I want to instal it on my device is to find out if the battery life gets better and finally delete trash from photo stream.

I would really appreciate this help!

----------

5.1 will be make or break for me whether or not I'll return the 4S. Four different units give me a battery life time of 5 hours maximum.

I don't want to able to delete photostream pictures: I want my new phone to last about as long as my old phone did.

this feature should definitely increase battery life though - 3G consumes really much battery...

----------

turning 3G OFF? this will help alot of people with battery life IMO

yeah it should, but when u compare iPhone 4S to iPhone 4 some units gets visibly lower battery life without disabling 3G on them..

what are you talking about here ?

so when can we expect this update to be made public, I really need the ability to switch off the 3G and I am not a developer ! is there any other way to get this update.

improved battery life

In recent beta3 i am seeing significantly improved battery life: after almost 12h of standby and approx. 1h of usage i got 95%. To be absolutelly sure that battery is improved we need to wait until whole cycle finish.

I gather that these figures correspond to a 4S on WiFi rather than 3G?
(Not that they are not highly encouraging at an rate!)

May I ask how these numbers compare to those you would get with 5.0.1 under similar conditions?

Thanks!

Useful tip for anyone who still have major battery problems (affects all devices, not just the 4S), don't forget about the location bug!

(I don't know if 5.0.1 ever resolved the issues with that but I've left them off and never looked back)

With the 3G toggle, I think all outstanding battery issues on the 4S will now be solved.

Do the 5.1 betas so far resolve this one?

With the 3G toggle, I think all outstanding battery issues on the 4S will now be solved.

So would you say that battery life is now decent? Can you give us mere mortals (without access to a dev account) some figures to pacify us until the update is released?

Thanks.

I dunno but I just leave them off. They're not needed anyway.

I don't own a 4S anymore (sold it because of the lack of that toggle) but I'm pretty sure these two issues were the primary culprits in battery drain on the 4S. Please see my previous posts on why the lack of the 3G toggle meant huge battery drain for some.

This still does not fix the Bluetooth connectivity with plenty of car stereos, a godsend of iOS4 but broken since release of iOS 5.

I do not belong to people who have tremendous problems with battery on 4S but it was a lot shorther then on ip4. I use 3G (enabled) with WiFi too (in my apartment). Previously after simillar time and usage battery was droping below 80% (so difference is 80% vs 95%), and here is screen shot after 14h:

Is the point of the 3G toggle to be able to turn off and use wifi only? I must be missing something.

Lyrics in ipad? Are they back?

Has anyone with an iPad checked to see if they put playback speed control back in Music?

Ok, what I want to know is whether the iPad music player still sucks and also whether the ability to play videos while phone is locked is restored (audio only).

So are there any improvements to the music player app? There are these issues and many many more, especially on the iPad. I have to say the music player app in iOS is one of the worst apps I've ever seen from apple, amazing that they shipped it in that state.

Anyone using the beta, can you check to see if the music player app has changed at all? Thanks.

Least now I can switch 3G off with 5.1 when at home on wifi and when at work so it doesn't keep looking for a connection... Wonder when it's out....

I was having a very bad battery life before resetting all settings, that did solve the issue, is not perfect now but at least it will last for a couple of days (max) without pluggin it to the wall.

Now I have a different issue, the battery is not getting charged sometimes, it won't loose charge but will also not charge. After a reset (just settings, full erase or DFU, same results for any of those and I've done it a thousand times) it will charge to 100% (only the 1st charge) but I have to wait untill battery drains to under 20% for it to charge or reset again, otherwise it will not charge at all.

Right now (after a DFU restore) is working OK again, I can charge it whenever I want and it will get charged, but this was the 3rd DFU restore, so I pretty sure it will fail to charge again soon.

I'm sure that this is a iOS issue because the hardware is able to work fine, I've seen it working OK, the failure is very ramdom, but when it starts I just proceed to restore again.

I really hope that 5.1 solves all battery issues, my carrier said that they will not replace the unit because they could not detect the issue (of course, is a very ramdom issue and they will not believe me).

It's been a nightmare to have the 4s, I'm really disappointed.

Issues that need to be addressed.

1) Horrible Ringtone Sound Quality-The same sound set as Text Tone sounds fantastic.

2) Sounds being loud initially after using Siri

3) Delete Photo Stream pics
