How hard is it for Apple to come up with "swiping left on lockscreen to clear a notification?" I hate that I still have to go into notification center just to clear them. And into the actual app just to clear the badge.

so now i have to hunt for info ios 6 gave me... im really not liking this ios 7. I'm using my sons iphone 4s ios 6 and my iphone 5 ios 7 beta 2

im really missing the old look

I believe iOS 6 has it, but only at certain times? I believe it's every 15+ minutes, it'll give a timestamp for the conversation. This time you can just swipe to the right and see every timestamp for every message.

I've noticed that after I close an app in the multitasking viewer, if I select the homescreen from the viewer, when it goes back to the homescreen, the background goes away. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Yes I have encountered that. The background except for the dock is just black.

Some things I've noticed.

  • That default wallpaper is gone.

  • The Control Center/Notification Center pull down arrows on the lock screen are a more whiter colour, compared to the grey before.

Is the very very thin status line moving?

The status line went away, but now I got an "install now" option, so Now it's on the black screen with the white apple and a progressing line line, so looks like it's moving along now. :D
*Here's to hoping for fewer app crashes! The UI bugs didnt bug me half as much as the shot to my productivity waiting for stuff to move along and constant crashes.

I don't get the backlash against the new icons - IOS is 8 years old, and unless change occurs, things start to look stale. Stale isn't cool.

IMO, the new icons go with the clean design of the newer phones, and are appropriate for the previously stated flat design choice.

For me, it's not the concept, it's the execution. I love the new design direction, they just need to make some tweaks (size of icons relative to their box, be consistent with gradients or better yet get rid of them altogether, get rid of the shadows in some icons, tweak some colors, Settings icon looks like a stove burner, etc.). I think they will nail it, but it's going to take some time. Hopefully they get the major stuff before iOS7 comes out, but other things will be refined in future releases.

I'm liking the icons... why are so many hating on them?

I agree. Who really cares? In the end it's speed, performance, usability, and features that make it or break it not what the home screen looks like. If they don't like the way it looks they can stay on iOS6 and be part of the chart for next year under "older versions".

Weather App could be coming to the iPad, it's currently listed under Location services on the iPad but not actually available to use.
