This was in the first beta but not sure if anyone pointed it out. I noticed that the text on spinners actually rotate, giving it a more "3D" perspective.

I have the new beta Siri voice working on my iPhone five. It sounds great and more realistic, however when I select text on the Internet and click speak the old Siri voice comes out. This is unfortunate because I mostly use Siri's voice when reading books on Kindle or iBooks. And articles on the Internet since I have eyestrain. I did notice there is a download enhanced version for the voices in the settings however after downloading nothing changed. Is this happening for everyone? Anyone know a fix?

With the greatest of respect, if the worst thing MR members mention about iOS 7 is its icons then I think it's going to be a resounding success. Changing icons isn't as difficult as, for instance, adding new features.

I'm really enjoying iOS 7. All I can possibly suggest is that they add toggle 3G on/off to that swipey-bottom-thing (I'm sure Apple have a name for it, which I can't quite remember right now )

I totally agree with you sir.
I'm sick of all people BS-ing about the icons.
Love IOS 7.
Went back to IOS 6 a few days ago because some key apps for me didn't work anymore. But it really looks awfully old and dull to me now.

IOS 7 is a good fresh start imo

Only Apple can destroy Apple. And that is happening now thanks to iOS7 visual design.

Stop.

iOS 7 doesn't look bad at all. Everyone who isn't a nerd has absolutely loved iOS 7 when seeing it on my phone. I'll admit, when I first saw it, I loved it, but then it began to look worse and worse as I waited for the update to go live on launch day. Once it did, and once I changed the wallpaper away from one of the stock ones, it looked 100% better. The entire feel of the OS changes with your wallpaper. If you have a bright, girly wallpaper, your phone will feel girly. If you have a dark, serious wallpaper, your phone will have a more serious feel to it. It works so well that it makes the phone feel a ton more customizable, even when it isn't. Sure, some of the icons are a bit rough and need redone, but for the most part, I can't even use iOS 6 anymore due to the stale, outdated look it has.

Apple isn't being destroyed by anything, so stop being overly sensational. If you don't like iOS 7, then simply switch to Android or Windows Phone. Absolutely nobody is forcing you to use it if you don't like it.

In message app, drag your responses to the left and it reveals date stamp info.

Nickharris1992 beat me to it...daggone it.

notifications

This is afwul. Beta 2 is worse. Notifications dont show on the homescreen even if its turned on in settings. so when a message comes in it doesn't show. then when you turn the screen on you now have to pull down notifications centre to see whats come in

I'm not sure it's the icons exactly but it's what the icons represent, apple losing their "taste"

People say the exact same thing any time Apple changes any icon. You would have thought the world was ending when the iTunes icon changed. Or the Music icon in iOS. The only thing you can count on when Apple changes an icon is that there will be a vocal group of people claiming Apple has lost their taste.

Try rebooting your phone

My notifications work just the same as they did in B1. Maybe even a little better?

Themes....

So I have to chime in on this whole visual aspect of IOS 7. I'm in the middle regarding the icons, dont love it but don't hate it either.

I know apple would never do this but why not just implement a "Theme Setting" and allow users to select the look of the icons etc. You can change wallpaper, etc, why not icons? Jony, are you listening?

I own both Apple and Android devices. I like to customize my devices somewhat but I think Android takes it too far and apple does not go far enough, just my opinion.

IMO the icons are at the bottom of the list on things to update right now... my guess is that we won't see "final" icons until just before GM release... don't worry about them :)

...seriously, as designer myself I really try to see the positive side of this new design, but I can't find any. I like the idea that the design will be flat, but the way Apple designers have designed it -so far- is something I simply can't comprehend.

It looks way to simplistic to me, as if designed by one without any passion for design, the icon's look sloppy, as if the designer simply stopped in phase one of the design.

Why can't apple just build in a way users can those between different themes?

Odd. Do a fresh install maybe.

This thread needs more people complaining about stuff that's common in early betas of any OS. Also needs more complaints about battery life and the new icons.
