Just make sure that all of you guys who got the beta without UDID registration wait for confirmation that this is a safe beta to upgrade to before doing it. No one wants a bricked device. I would assume you could just go into DFU and restore to iOS 6.

The CEO gets final say -- but they'd be a bad CEO (or Steve Jobs) if they meddled in the jobs of those they'd hired.

Anyway: Damn, this update is taking a LONG time preparing!

Changed text message notification on the lock screen. I like the change. I didn't like how "slide to reply" flashed over the name of the sender in Beta 1.

"ATFDL reports that users who installed beta 1 without officially signing up for Apple's developer program and registering their UDIDs are finding that their devices have been bricked after installing beta 2."

Does that go for registering a UDID from a third party site? Cause mine is working fine.

That isn't true, my UDID isn't registered and just updated to beta 2 OTA without a hitch. My phone is certainly not bricked :)

Here's some of my findings...

Calendar app icon now shows weekday in black (not sure if it turns red on holidays.)

iMessage group chats now show avatars.

The Send button in iMessage is now bold.

There's a new animation for sending message bubbles.

It appears there's now subtle shadows below app names.

It appears the colors of the default dynamic wallpaper are less bright.

The timeline scrubber in Control Center no longer appears if no music is playing.

New stopwatch icon in Control Center.

Camera icon on the lock screen appears larger.

There's a new animation for launching/quitting an app that is not on the home screen page you're currently on.

Blank Safari pages now show you your bookmarks in your Favorites (Bookmarks Bar) folder.

Very minor: The Newsstand label is now black.

We're now seeing reports (some in this thread) that this isn't true, so we've removed the comment from our post.

Wow - the Voice icon is soooooo awful I immediately tried to move it to my "Bad Icons" folder. You know what - It animates when it wiggles. It looks like it is flashing white. Very odd.

I don't get the backlash against the new icons - IOS is 8 years old, and unless change occurs, things start to look stale. Stale isn't cool.

IMO, the new icons go with the clean design of the newer phones, and are appropriate for the previously stated flat design choice.

I assumed Apple wouldn't have screwed the <2% of non-developers who may have the beta installed; it serves them no purpose. Perhaps if those users have their diagnostic data set up to be sent to the mothership automatically, then Apple can iron out those bugs faster.

Seems to be taking a long time getting prepared for the update... Also, my iPhone is getting really hot...

Safari tabs look much better now, you can get favorites in safari as well, so far its more polished like someone stated.

You need to work on your counting skills.

iMessage is showing the nickname from the Contacts card, rather than the full name...

Go under the settings for contacts and scroll down to "Short Name" and click it, at the bottom there is an option for "Prefer Nicknames" if you turn it off it will display their actual name again.

Hopefully some battery issues were addressed. I also noticed a few bugs in the SMS app, as well as a few random things. I'd love for the ability to control what items get put into control center as well, but that may be wishful thinking.

Most everyone agrees that it needed a refresh, just not everyone agrees that this looks any good:
