What I Want

I'm STILL waiting for missed call reminder beeps. How do you folks handle a missed call? Do you check with your phone every time you step away from it, like I do? (At least I try to remember to do that.) Or do you just let it go and see that you've had one the next time you access your phone?

I want missed call reminder beeps like I've had with every phone I've owned in the past several years. And reminders for email and messages too. And I want to choose my own type of sound, and turn it on or off for each service, and set the delay time between reminders. Am I asking too much?

The 2.1 update cured a lot of what ailed me since 2.0 came out, but it's still not perfect. For example, I'm still seeing more crashes than I did with the 1.x version of the iPhone software, but not as many as with 2.0.

Here's to 2.2 being another solid step in the right direction. ;)

I'd rather they fix the problems people are having rather than spending time on adding new features that don't "just work"

Amen. That always used to be Apple's "thing" -- it just worked. Not so much lately. But still, it's a damn sight better than any other phone I've ever had. Even my technophobe wife thinks so...

The ONLY reason for this 2.2 news is to counter attack Android. You WILL see copy and paste along with a few more toys.
Oh, reeeeaaally? Care to elaborate how you know that?

I can assure you that there is no Push-Notification in this Beta release. Otherwise Apple would have stated this in its release notes to get developers testing this feature. It is definately not in there.

Can't they stop with the BS updates and get Copy/Paste and some real usefull stuff once and for all?

And how do you think Copy & Paste should come to the iPhone, other than with such an update?

I meant they are wasting time, money and energy on stupid cosmetic things instead of listening to people begging for real improvements.
Try receiving an address, or an account number or a phone number via email and forward it to someone via sms or email... U can't unless u have a piece of paper and a pen handy. In 2008 is the dumbest backwards thing to do. Copy and Paste should be the biggest priority.
They want to make google very visible in Safari cause they are scared of the Android...

Totally agree, the iPhone notification system needs a total overhaul. I shouldn't have to hit the home button every couple of minutes to see if I've missed a call. Also, the root of many of my missed calls needs to be addressed: weak vibration. The iPhone has the worst vibration of any phone I've ever used. If I'm sitting in my school's library with my phone on the table beside me and I still don't hear/feel the vibrations, it's way too weak. I don't know if this can be fixed through a firmware upgrade or if it's a hardware limitation, but I miss the powerful vibrations of my Motorola.

That and other great features were available months ago on jailbroken iPhones.

Many of the App Store stuff comes from a year of trials for Free on Installer for iPhone. Right now, I have a JB 2.02 with Cydia and Installer with many notifications, any sound I want, great icons, Video capture with Sound, Snapture, tons of free games, dictionaries and translators... Who cares for 2.1 or 2.2 that will make all of that go away and transform my very useful and cool iPhone into an average, limited one.

Jailbreak and u will see the iPhone the way it's supposed to be.

seriously i have to jailbreak just to get the multiple vibrate program to even feel it vibrate because i get a txt message its like a slight vibrate but barely noticeable on my samsung blackjack it was like a vibrator :p i knew that i got a txt message on that thing, i love the iphone but its a toy more than a phone :(

Apple can't do anything right the first time these days. If you all would take a step back and look at the recent history with Apple and their product releases and see they have not been up to par. This is just another example of how Apple over extends it's self in order to make their products look more advantageous, but they haven't been delivering as of late. The iPhone is taking up way too many resources and they need to spin off the iPhone into it's own company to save itself from their own product...

You must have been reading my mind. This whole iPhone thing is becoming too much. Has Apple stop making computers? Geeze

I'm not happy about the lack of Firewire 400 port and DVI port. This means more adapters to lug around. I'd rather have a millimeter or two larger case and less peripherals. That's why I'm not buying a MacBook Air! Hello, Apple? What are you thinking?!

Iphone problems

My best friend's iphone keeps crashing, freezing, dropping calls and just plain old not working. What the deal yo?

That's a battery-drainer, isn't it?
Only if you're actively using it, I'd imagine- and there are plenty of things (AIM, for example) that already are battery-drainers if you're actively using them. Personally, I'd be willing to deal with having to charge it a bit more if I could use my stereo bluetooth headphones or make full use of my car stereo's bluetooth capabilities...

Wrong thread, bud.

It has already been mentioned. The C/P feature has been considered but has not been deemed a priority. Other pressing matters like making certain iPhones don't crash with more than 12 Flashlight applications is at the top of the list. :p
