I thought I saw previous screen shots from the preferences that allowed you to turn battery % on or off in the new 3.0 firmware? Am I wrong? I thought this was a new feature?
so did I.

Anyone else's Camera app appear to have something missing from bottom left of the screen?

Actually that is populated once you take a picture... its previous picture taken... so you can jump back and do something with it.
Anyone have the issue that whilst updating the iPhone to 3.0, after several restarts, you keep coming back to the spinning white tiles screen with the Apple Logo in the background?
I've now seen the iPhone reboot no less than 5x's and each time it seems to reboot after the spinning white tiles appear.![]()
O really???? I think you might be wrong.
Some 2.0 apps did not run on 3.0 but they now do or mostly do with this upgrade.. that is what I gather.
Alright lets get something straight because if there is one thing that I do not like is people who pretend to understand the iphone enviroment, I append here below a list of application that are able to work on the background:
1)
phone app
ipod app
voice recording (except when phone app is making a call)
Internet tethering (not exactly an app but still)
2) When I stated multitasking, i did not choose the sentence "working in the background" thus I did not imply that any iphone app would just work in the background, there is the "notification service" for that. What I meant was that if double tapping would take you to the previous app you been working on, it could potentially enable you to switch between 2 apps that you want to interact with.
Hope this is clear.
I was searching the new beta of iPHone 3.0 and I found plug-ins in the safari settings tab, and it was turned off. Is this new in iPhone 3.0? I have't really heard anything about plug-is for mobile safari
Just an addition here to the background apps:
*******
It looks like podcast through itunes are able to stream in the background without the need to download them first and without the need to keep itunes/quicktime open. Nice addition apple.
I actually like the idea of the last picture icon, but where is the icon to go back to the gallery of all your pictures. Didn't it replace another icon that was there?

Hi guys was buying something from the app store on my iPhone 3.0 and get this screen.
Is this new or was it in the previous 3.0 releases?
Guys, I cannot paste photos in Messages in order to send it as MMS in Beta 3.
I was able to paste photos in Beta 2 but unfortunately they were sent as txt witought photos, but now with this beta I can't actualy paste any photos!!
Note: my carrier ipcc file was modified by a friend ever since Beta 2
Charlie, just because you paid a developer to add ur udid to their developer account doesn't make you a developer. 2, if you we're a developer or even a half way intelligent iphone user you would understand the basic concept of syncing your pictures and contacts via itunes.. Not flaming, just saying..![]()
I just updated my phone to the new beta release, and to my surprise, after it restarted from being updated, it still had all my content on it and media. I didn't have to restore from backup or re-sync anything!!First time this has ever happened to me!
I think it is pretty cool, because it usually takes me about 3 to 4 hours to get everything updated, synced, and restored. The whole process only took about 5 minutes! Ahhh, how awesome!![]()
This is because you have chosen to check for updates using the alt key instead of choosing to restore.
