Anyone else's Camera app appear to have something missing from bottom left of the screen?

Actually that is populated once you take a picture... its previous picture taken... so you can jump back and do something with it.

yeah, this seems to be done by design and was like that since the beginning of the 3.0 beta, although it was black to begin with. Once you take a picture, the image shrinks and zooms down to that square, where you can then click on it to see the image and share it or whatever

Stuck at Upgrade to 3.0

Anyone have the issue that whilst updating the iPhone to 3.0, after several restarts, you keep coming back to the spinning white tiles screen with the Apple Logo in the background?

I've now seen the iPhone reboot no less than 5x's and each time it seems to reboot after the spinning white tiles appear. :(

is your UDID registered?

O really???? I think you might be wrong.

You all must be lucky.
Some people have said they've gotten tethering enabled just magically, I haven't, and I'm on AT&T on my 3G plan.
Some say now MMS works. Not for I.
Additionally, some people claim they get a battery percentage next to their battery symbol.. again, not I!

But at least YouTube works now for me, I guess that is a plus side up!

Additionally, things are much snappier now.
Can't wait for the next release again!

Plugins in iPhone 3.0?

I was searching the new beta of iPHone 3.0 and I found plug-ins in the safari settings tab, and it was turned off. Is this new in iPhone 3.0? I have't really heard anything about plug-is for mobile safari

Some 2.0 apps did not run on 3.0 but they now do or mostly do with this upgrade.. that is what I gather.

it's been a while since 3.0 came out. that's why I don't install it into my iphone. I only test it with second Gen. touch. but as people say it is not for everyday use. actually many apps are not really compatible with it yet. crash, open up & freeze, graphic performance lagging, and so on especially in games.

Alright lets get something straight because if there is one thing that I do not like is people who pretend to understand the iphone enviroment, I append here below a list of application that are able to work on the background:

1)
phone app
ipod app
voice recording (except when phone app is making a call)
Internet tethering (not exactly an app but still)

2) When I stated multitasking, i did not choose the sentence "working in the background" thus I did not imply that any iphone app would just work in the background, there is the "notification service" for that. What I meant was that if double tapping would take you to the previous app you been working on, it could potentially enable you to switch between 2 apps that you want to interact with.

Hope this is clear.

Just an addition here to the background apps:

*******
It looks like podcast through itunes are able to stream in the background without the need to download them first and without the need to keep itunes/quicktime open. Nice addition apple.

plug-in are for web apps i think. Web app are able to store data on the phone and even run offline. that one is a real step forward not even desktop web apps offer that.

I keep on getting no sim card in. I take out the sim put back in. And then reset network settings. Never happened in OS 3 beta 2.
Thank you

Can't pase photos in Messages

Guys, I cannot paste photos in Messages in order to send it as MMS in Beta 3.
I was able to paste photos in Beta 2 but unfortunately they were sent as txt witought photos, but now with this beta I can't actualy paste any photos!!

Note: my carrier ipcc file was modified by a friend ever since Beta 2

I actually like the idea of the last picture icon, but where is the icon to go back to the gallery of all your pictures. Didn't it replace another icon that was there?

Charlie, just because you paid a developer to add ur udid to their developer account doesn't make you a developer. 2, if you we're a developer or even a half way intelligent iphone user you would understand the basic concept of syncing your pictures and contacts via itunes.. Not flaming, just saying.. :apple:

always been there, once you enter your email/username the first time it's no longer there until you upgrade again

YouTube finally works. Much smoother feel all around. :D

EDIT: Just noticed this...I can now use the button on the Apple headphones to control the music just like with the new iPod shuffle...click twice to go to the next song, three times to go back.

Not to defend him or challenge you, but depending on a few things, he may have a point. I use a Mac so I know all of my contacts get synced with my computer's address book and it's not an issue.. however I have PC friends who say their contact information seems to be nowhere on their computer that they can tell. Maybe it's saved in some obscure location or just held within iTunes somehow, I don't know.

Also, somewhat similar with photos- on a Mac it syncs fine with iPhoto if you're talking about pictures you sync from your computer in the first place. However, if you haven't manually saved the pictures on your camera roll elsewhere, if you can't restore from an iPhone backup, they're lost. I found this out the hard way when I did a fresh install back on 2.1

I just updated my phone to the new beta release, and to my surprise, after it restarted from being updated, it still had all my content on it and media. I didn't have to restore from backup or re-sync anything!! First time this has ever happened to me!

I think it is pretty cool, because it usually takes me about 3 to 4 hours to get everything updated, synced, and restored. The whole process only took about 5 minutes! Ahhh, how awesome! :D

This is because you have chosen to check for updates using the alt key instead of choosing to restore.
