Exchange 2003 Compatibilty, maybe? Please?

Any chance we can get this in the Mail update, PLEASE!

I tried the workaround mention on other posting, and it didn't work.

I thought the exact same when I first got Lion - what was this stupid thing, it's not even laid out nicely!

Now, I can't get enough of it - using a quick gesture to get to my applications is brilliant. Going to Finder or the Application folder in dock requires clicking, accuracy and multiple steps. Learning a gesture takes a little practice but improves your efficiency and experience tenfold when it's it's just one simple movement.

Yeah I know we have a dock, but only for our most important things, stuff that you use occasionally wont go there, alas a gesture for getting to your other lesser used stuff.

<sarcasm> Gesture are VERY handy on a desktop computer/ </sarcasm>

Exchange 2003 support will never arrived.. ever. The reason is that Exchange is moving away from MAPI and moving towards EWS. So why add support for the old style connection. Even Outlook 2011 is only EWS I believe.

There is an option in System Preferences to disable this. Uncheck the box in the General tab right at the bottom Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps.

I have no idea why you were marked down to -4 for this comment when it clearly helps people and informs those who didn't know, how to turn off that particular feature.

Thanks from me though.

I'm in for an disable auto save.

amen to that brother. Or at the very least have an option to only start auto saving a file after the first save. It's incredibly annoying to have to constantly think about whether or not I have made changes to documents I have open as reference, but don't want altered. Not to mention the trouble to backtrack accidental edits through the stupid star wars restore thing.
Computing life was so much simpler when I had a "Don't save" prompt

I hope to update my mac later tonight with it. My only concern is that it breaks vmware. One of the prior 10.7.2 seeds that apple released did just that

He was marked down because it doesn't address the issue that was being referred to. We're talking about the dialogue box that comes up when you logout/restart/shutdown. There is no fix for that. The setting in system preferences is for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Re-opening windows and re-opening applications are separately defined functions. Turning that checkbox off permanently is priority #1.

Making me laugh here!

The gestures are not a bad idea I guess.

I always tend to use an external keyboard and usb mouse with my mba 13 so for me the whole gesture thing doesn't really cut it. ( Well except on an airplane or when I am working for just a couple of minutes in an unusual location ).

The people into the whole array of different gestures seem to be really really into it though so watch out!

You're not going to get iCloud on Snow Leopard. You have been left behind.

And yet the opposing team gets support all the way back to Windows Vista? (I've heard people have been able to get iCloud to work with XP SP3 even). How is that at all fair to us? Mac OS X Tiger was the latest Mac OS when Vista came out, and yet, Apple won't support their own users using an OS that's only been off the shelf for not even five months? Do they not realize most users (especially the "average Joe" type they're catering to these days) don't upgrade their OS like the fanatics do? I guarantee you there are still probably more users on Snow Leopard AND Leopard than Lion at this point in time. It's not about being left behind, it's about forcing people to upgrade. Apple seems to be too happy with all this power they have these days and they are abusing it.

From what I've observed by friends who have Macs, the "buyer's remorse" rating for OS X Lion seems to be pretty high. A few long-time Mac users I have come across lately seem to be really unhappy with Apple and are contemplating switching to other platforms. I guarantee they are not alone in their decision either.

In regards to the 10.6.9 comment, it is rare, but Apple has released updates for previous OS's before. One I can think of right now is 10.4.11, which came out a few weeks after 10.5 was released. I'm not saying 10.6.9 is likely, but it would totally be possible if Apple had enough common sense to do it.

If 10.6.9 was going to happen, it would have by now. Apple has never released an update for the previous version of OS which added new features, and given that iCloud is so heavily tied into the marketing of Lion, there's no way Apple will ever put it into 10.6.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I want iMessage on the Mac. Also, I hope they spend some time on iChat and FaceTime. Maybe integrate all 3.

I hope they can at least fix the lag when activating Misson Control and App Expose.

For me, at least, it is *even* worse. Installed early this morning. 4 Crashes already.

Went through, deleted the windowserver plists in ~/Library/ByHosts and downloaded the Mid2010 Video Driver update and force installed the contents of the .pkg it contained and no crashes all day since then. But, seriously, virgin 10.7.3 crashed incessantly.

PLEASE let it finally be a BSOD fix!

The so called video "update" for the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro did nothing to solve it.

10.7.3 beta

It's so damn laggy! And iTunes behaves funny. Almost all the time up at 100%+ CPU load.

Hello Time Machine!

Another idea! Don't use it if you don't like it!

I don't understand why we have spotlight or Finder to launch our apps, We have a dock!

Back in the day of AtEase, I didn't use that - didn't complain about it being there.

However, in that same time, Apple concentrated *all* effort into making the Finder the absolutely best, because it was the preferred way to manipulate files.

Now Apple seems to add new half-assed features every "major" OS X version while making the old versions languish in maintenance-mode.

That's what's annoying - that we get LaunchPad when the Finder is half-assed, Spotlight is half-assed and the Dock is half-assed - instead of making an effort into improving what has already been applied.

"How can it be improved"? some would ask. Unless the above mentioned features are perfect, I think that answers that question.

Apple is like a kid with ADD, if it's new and shiny then it's all the rage. For 5 minutes.

Hello Time Machine!

Which of your machines did you try in on?

If the macbook air 2011 then thanks for the update ... I was thinking about trying it out on my machine ( very similar to yours ) probably will wait a little longer anyhow.

It is just the first 10.7.3 beta out so early in the game.

Yup, MBA '11. It's really bad, at least on my machine. Performance went down a lot. Got to admit that I had no problems with 10.7.2 (besides the wifi after sleep bug).

To the downvoters. I know I know it's beta bla bla and I'm not a dev. But I have backups and I do what I want. I'm just curious.

I hope they address the issue with slow graphics after wake from sleep using ATI 2600 card (2.8GHZ 24 inch iMac 2008). Can anyone confirm that?
