I read that Catalina is going to need 2 logical volumes - one a read-only or stuff that should not be changed and another for the rest?
Thank you. This aging thing sucks. Somehow I thought I had PB 10, getting it now.If you got it yesterday, it would have been PB 9, not 10. Indeed that build 19A578c is PB9/DB10 - not PB 10. PB 10 was only just released a few hours ago. Download it again if you want PB 10.
I’m all for moving to new architectures but I’m going to be stuck in Mavericks for a while because I have too much work left behind in Aperture. I’ve moved to Lightroom years ago but I have many years worth of work in my Aperture libraries. Lightroom can import the photos but it doesnt come with the edits which is thousands of hours of work.
Anybody know of any tools that can export Aperture libraries to a modern pro photo editor with the edits left intact?

Most music software I've come across is still 32bit or not properly signed.I’ve received many emails from music software companies saying not to upgrade and turn off auto updates. Looks like this upgrade is going to be a massive cluster $&@?
. . . . And what's worse, I've got it running on a test machine, have had it for months now. It doesn't add anything useful. . . . .
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I fear losing iTunes.
AppleTV app has so many bugs in the common code base, I know I am going to streaming access to movies, etc.
This may be the first MacOS release I skip—or more likely delay until I can’t take it any longer.

I actually don't want this GM to be the release build. Going from beta 10 to GM made my dock disappear. I couldn't get it back by hovering near the bottom of the screen either.
Restarting fixed it. Otherwise I would have deleted the dock preference file.
Nevertheless this is a bug I might expect from an early beta - not a GM!
Anyway I hope apple either fix it in another GM - or even in the final release build.
But if they release this GM as final release build - many won't know how to get their dock back.
So how long did this take before it came back? I’ve got the same setup and have been waiting about an hour. I’m starting to stress...It’s taking forever to install on my 2017 15” MacBook Pro. Upgrading from Mojave ...

You can install iTunes on Catalina using this hack.I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I fear losing iTunes.
What, you didn't read the thread? It's only posted at least 5 times before your post. No, you'd rather someone else do your reading for you, I'm guessing. What, no build #?
You will be the only soul that sees this issue. Promise.
Aperture is dead software. It sucks, but figuring out how to move would be my #1 priority. Apple suggests migrating to LR classic. It looks like there are a lot of caveats though.

At some point you might have to just suck it up and export edited jpgs alongside the RAWs without the edit stack.
Please, I want to know before I update, is there a way to switch to the official public update after I download the GM?

SoC on Hard driveCorrect.
One is reserved for user data and the other is for the OS.
Although you can modify data on both partitions.
