How are you verifying this?
How much memory in the machine?
It runs 'fine' on my iMac 6,1......

and are running SL as the 'primary' os... there is no upgrade path from SL beta to release code. The readme is pretty clear on that topic.
So you mean that when it's released in the fall, the installation won't have the option to archive and install?
It actually doesn't matter if you use Time Machine backups. Just erase and install and then restore from backup.
So you're saying we will not have the options to either Erase and Install, or to Archive and Install?
You will have either option. It should have all the options that you see in retail disk. There's no reason not to expect all of them.
My point was that, even if we can't upgrade to final release. It shouldn't be a concern.

Here is hoping that my iMac 7,1 will finally run in 64bit.
edit: No Joy.
Leopard 10.5.0 was released at build 581.
If Apple keeps up progress on SL at an average rate of about one build a day, it looks like the build number on RTM likely will be 440-480. This gives Apple 2-4 weeks time to manufacture the disks in RTM phase before releasing Snow Leopard in September.
No new interface by then. SL has a code freeze-- no new features. Just performance improvements and tweaks.
Yup. We can only Erase and Install when the final gets out in Sept.
This may not work, I did that on previous seed, it didn't work. So i did this instead.Try holding "6" and "4" when you boot.

What are you talking about? There will be Archive and Install. Apple is targeting 10.6 to be used to upgrade 10.5 systems, meaning without erasing stuff. That's the whole point.

He's referring to those of us using the Developer Preview. Leopard users will be able to upgrade fine.

What credible source can you attribute that to?
The Dock's contextual menus don't look nearly as nice with the bigger fonts. Can't wait for the next update so they can hopefully put it back how it was. Or if someone finds a hack for it that would be sweet too.
