Screen recording with QuickTime was broken on beta 1 for me, now it works. There are also updates in the Music app - artworks zoom in on hover (sometimes, it's glitchy) and now you can select multiple albums at once which I think I couldn't do on beta 1.

This upgrade is huge. As you can see on the screenshot I already have Catalina installed and the upgrade is 6.45 GB. If I upgrade I will definitely have to delete installation files and probably have to clear local Time Machine snapshots.

I wish they'd fix NSPredicateEditor when it is displayed in a sheet. It has been broken since at least the initial release of 10.14. I guess they are more interested in designing new emojis rather than fixing core parts of the OS.

I've been developing software for the Apple/Mac platform since 1985 and it's sad to see the state of Apple today. Lots of broken parts of the OS will likely never be fixed.

Just tried it again after running Beta 2 for a few hours and it did startup and run my Windows 10 Enterprise VM without causing another crash. It could have been something else in the background running earlier but it only crashed when starting up Fusion and/or the VM. Time will tell I guess.

USB is still broken, though I'm guessing this is some intentional change that requires VM's to change, maybe.

Did you report it using the Feedback Assistant? Last time I used now-replaced bugreport.apple.com, it worked like a charm and they actually fixed my report.

Apple Frameworks are light years ahead of anything back since 1985. They were a joke until the merger.

What's happening right now is a complete transition, and/or augmentation of 30 year well-developed OOA/OOD frameworks under ObjC/C/C++/ObjC++ and now incorporating Swift as it matures as the heir apparent language to ObjC. If you expect no bumps you really must be from another planet.

I'd like to see them bring back home sharing - at least by the final build.
Home Sharing has not left... it's just in a different spot. Now located in System Preferences -> Sharing -> Media Sharing, and doesn't carry the "Home Sharing" name anymore. This feature is totally compatible at least with devices that run iOS 12.x or Mojave / iTunes. Provides exact same functionality.

Omg new beta still have very huge size 6.45GB. Before this i try to shift in 10.15 near about 3 days. I dont know why apple send it again. And what have new features or enhance.

no real issues here. I had to d/l xCode 11 beta 2 and the command line tools for it separately as they are not included in the beta d/l.

EDIT: it did hose my custom /etc/hosts file so if you are planning to upgrade and have a custom hosts file then save a copy of it first :)

Not a biggie for me as i can easily rebuild it.

Can anyone confirm whether Catalina has the persistent hotspot feature like ios 13?

Do share your thoughts when you have taken the second beta for a spin.

I tried the first, and found some fundamental workflow issues that meant I had to downgrade the system back to Mojave. Things like apps not reflecting in Launchpad, Finder not updating quick enough, some other basic things. I did like the overall system snappiness on my Air 2017. Positive step. Waiting for it to iron out some more bugs.

How did you not encounter issues? :)
I hope you are reporting the bug to Apple through the reporting mechanism...

OneDrive works again in this build

This isn't an incremental update, it's the entire Catalina update package - not just changes from beta 1.

Finder is a bit slow and finicky, unlike Beta 1. I found Home Sharing and enabled it but I cannot connect to my film and TV libraries through the Apple TV app on the phone (running iOS 13) or the Apple TV, running 12.3. I made sure I was logged into iCloud and that Home Sharing was enabled. On the phone I get "There was a problem playing this content" and on the TV, the library comes up but the error message is, "Cannot connect to shared libraries." My shared music library plays, however.

I know I can't get that excited about these issues running a Beta but if anyone else got this working, let me know. Thanks!

I will never understand why every new OS results in the wholesale breaking of things that were working just fine prior. How is this progress? Seems more like a study in user aggravation.

Feedback Assistant on 10.15 will not allow me to create a new issue and when I go there on the website I get:

Join the Apple Beta Software Program to use
Feedback Assistant to report general usability
issues with Software Betas.

Use the Apple Developer Program to report
Feedback for APIs or Developer tools.

So I use the second option, and when I get to the Login screen here:

https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/welcome

It just goes back to the same two-choice screen above.

I have no way to report anything at this point.

Back on Catalina beta 2. Let's see how the ride goes this time. It feels slightly better this time around, though.
