Feedback Assistant on 10.15 will not allow me to create a new issue and when I go there on the website I get:

Join the Apple Beta Software Program to use
Feedback Assistant to report general usability
issues with Software Betas.

Use the Apple Developer Program to report
Feedback for APIs or Developer tools.

So I use the second option, and when I get to the Login screen here:

https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/welcome

It just goes back to the same two-choice screen above.

I have no way to report anything at this point.
Try using the first option. I've never joined the developer program and can happily (!) log feedback requests on both Catalina and iOS13 despite not following the "official" routes to acquire them. I am, however, in the public beta program for both so maybe that's why Feedback app works for me.

This is something that bothered me as well. So I investigated. Apparently, this is new, intended behavior. If you want the app in launchpad, you'll have to drag the .app file from the Applications folder on top of the launchpad icon in the dock.

I auto hide the dock and remove every app from it, so I had to figure out how to get launchpad back in the dock, since it's not itself in launchpad. If you've removed it, you can use spotlight search (CMD+Spacebar) to search for launchpad, and drag it to the dock.

Pretty annoying!

Thank you so much for that tip. That alone made me want to come back to it to try. It was a long time ago, with Tiger, when I used to open the Applications folder for apps.

Finder is a bit slow and finicky, unlike Beta 1. I found Home Sharing and enabled it but I cannot connect to my film and TV libraries through the Apple TV app on the phone (running iOS 13) or the Apple TV, running 12.3. I made sure I was logged into iCloud and that Home Sharing was enabled. On the phone I get "There was a problem playing this content" and on the TV, the library comes up but the error message is, "Cannot connect to shared libraries." My shared music library plays, however.

I know I can't get that excited about these issues running a Beta but if anyone else got this working, let me know. Thanks!
Turn your iCloud off and back on. That might fix your issues.

I will never understand why every new OS results in the wholesale breaking of things that were working just fine prior. How is this progress? Seems more like a study in user aggravation.
Spoken like a non-developer. ;). When major changes are made and core sub-routines updates to improve efficiency, it can introduce breakages in places that aren’t immediately expected to break in. MacOS is large and sometime a core routine needs to be altered to implement the new features being introduced. Otherwise macOS would be just one big patch job. We might as well be using Windows at that point.

I have been in the Developer program since about 1987 (back when it used to cost $1,500 per year and the developer documentation came in 3-ring binders). I am not in the public beta program since the Developer Prograde supersedes it. I tried anyway and it says I can't join the public beta program either. I miss the Apple-Steve days.

If anyone is experiencing issues updating, such as failed updates or system crashes during updating, you can make the installer into a bootable media and perform the upgrade install from there.

Home Sharing has not left... it's just in a different spot. Now located in System Preferences -> Sharing -> Media Sharing, and doesn't carry the "Home Sharing" name anymore. This feature is totally compatible at least with devices that run iOS 12.x or Mojave / iTunes. Provides exact same functionality.
and from my antidotal evidence, home sharing no longer requires the Mac to be running the associated app.

I don't know why this isn't a thing yet. APFS supports snapshot streams and incremental snapshot streams. This would be absolutely ideal for Time Machine and probably hundreds of times faster than the current way which is basically an rsync with hard linked directories.

APFS doesn't support hard link for directories and there are no plans on introducing support for it. Time Machine heavily relies on hard links, so it will keep this way forever or until someone decides to modify APFS rules.

Does anyone know of the default dynamic wallpaper is now fully dynamic? In beta 1 it only contained two images, one for light mode and one for dark mode. If so, please share the HEIC file for those of us still running macOS Mojave.

On beta 1, wanted to Update to beta 2, too little space, the more I delete the less space I get.
No, it's not local backups, I deleted them to no avail, some serious bug here.

System gets slower the closer I get to 0GB
What is odd is that if I delete the sleepimage in /var/(VM)disk the space will grow by about 2 GB, if I delete an App I will get less space, think something is amiss with local snapshots or the System not reporting the actual space left.

Any ideas apart from reinstalling or using restore from TimeMachine?

For perspective...

Both iOS 13 and iPad OS installed and run flawlessly. I am shocked at how well they both perform.

Catalina beta 1 played horribly with my G-Tech externals. Recognition issues and hang ups. I’m reluctant to try b2 unless someone with externals can confirm all is well.

Yeah, I tried that, and on all my devices. Still not working. For a Cloud service that allows you so little control over your data, I don't see why they have to make it that painful to log-off and log back on...

Are you a registered developer? If not I doubt you can submit feedback until the public beta is out.

one thing i've just encountered is the Firefox update fixing the security issue i read on ArsTechnica.
i get this:

And then go into System Preferences, Security and Privacy and click on Open Anyway
Screen Shot 2019-06-19 at 7.21.51 pm.png

And i get this
Screen Shot 2019-06-19 at 7.23.14 pm.png

Click on Open and Firefox doesn't open. Subsequent attempts at clicking on the Firefox icon in my Dock goes through the same routine. So right now i can't use Firefox on this beta. I guess i could try downloading a fresh image and reinstalling it, which i will do and edit this post if successful.

EDIT: I downloaded the latest Firefox image and installed it: no change. So instead i copied the Firefox.app to my $HOME/Applications/ folder and it worked after clicking on Open Anyway as mentioned above. It now has a different profile, but syncing everything it is now all ok. Weird i know.

I've had a few bugs on Beta 1

About this Mac - Storage: anywhere from 45GB to 120GB of data is being used as 'Other'.
Deleting items from iCloud that are not downloaded locally causes a permanently full bin and never ending 'Emptying the Bin...'
I left the house this morning with Beta 2 almost completely downloaded... I came home to it not being there at all... currently re-downloading. They didn't release a second beta 2 during the day did they?

What a train wreck, that is, beta 1, besides having a storage leak as I mentioned earlier on in this thread I now also lost my Mail, upon coming home from my job I opened Mail, everything is gone.
Can't Update to beta 2 because I have insufficient storage left, the more I delete the fewer GBytes I have left.
Time for a TimeMachine backup I guess.
What is odd is that if I delete the Sleepimage (2GB) my storage will increase by that much, yet when I delete Data like Apps it gets less.
TimeMachine has it's own bugs, it started baking up almost one hour ago, 485.5 of 485.5 MB synced and that was half an hour ago, can't seem to finish the Backup.

Edit:
Crap, as if it can't get any worse, I was looking back in TimeMachine, it has one dated 25 May, next one is Yesterday, I should have all the dates in between.
Some serious data loss and bugs.

Yes, I am aware this is a beta, I have 2 Machines so I can recover from this, this beta is far worse than last year first beta.

Something strange happened when editing my former post, I edited the post and when I Saved the changes it created a new post.

Yeah, something's borked (or it's a feature, not a bug) - I noticed if I posted something too soon after something previous, it "merged" the two posts - I don't recall seeing that behavior before.
[doublepost=1560962173][/doublepost]It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who install Betas and then are angry they have bugs. Angry, or surprised. I'm happy as hell to find out Home Sharing wasn't dropped. If it's not working for me even after logging out of iCloud and logging back in - I'm sure they'll fix it.

By the way - am I to assume I'm not the only one who questions of what actual value iCloud/iCloud Drive actually is to users?
