That's not the point. My question is why. What has changed in the mail app to cause so much trouble?

It could be a multitude of things and it doesn't have to originate in the mail app to break it.

For example, Mail could be asking the system for data an updated API or bug could send something unexpected back but instead of handling it gracefully, Mail fails and the system crashes it to prevent instabilities.

It could be as arbitrary as accessing a system record, a block of memory, or as broad as database management issues in that framework – there are so many things involved that the question really can't be answered reasonably. Your phone is generating crash reports though, so you can pull those and read what exactly went wrong if you really want to know.

I don’t know why people who are serious about email are still using the built in app. I for one, use Microsoft Outlook with 6-7 email accounts, tens of folders and thousands of messages with no problems whatsoever. It’s just way better than the Apple app and it’s free. And there are other alternatives too.

I am as it is integrated and offers much better reminders in the calendar app and snooze ability.

Apple is behind schedule on iOS13. The zero-day patch is proof of that. Gotta hire more engineers

It seems that PB2 fixes the battery drain on AW4 with WatchOS 5.3.1.
At 10PM, the watch was fully charged, and I wore it trough the night.
And at 6AM, the battery was (just switched to) at 93%, making the loss less than 1% per hour of sleep-use.
So for me, the battery drain has been fixed :)

so this isn’t only in my mind? I’ve been wondering…

My Watch Series 3 has been working beautifully, I haven't had my watch on a charger since installing 13.1 DB2 Tuesday afternoon. I have 8 percent left at the time of this post, so it's probably time to put it on the charger.

I use both without any issues, the built in mail app I have 13 email accounts and 6 email accounts in Outlook, both work great for me.

Hi. Quick question. I’m concerned about the stability of iOS 13b8 (public), which is the last beta out. I usually get in on public betas in the last few. If I install the iOS beta profile, but do NOT install public b8, (stay with 12.4.X) will it still let me see and download the iOS 13 Final Candidate, when released on Sep 10 or will I have to install b8 before it sees it? Or am I stuck now because 13.1b2 is out and I don’t even have the option to get 13pb8?
Thank you.

This has been one of the worst public betas in years, both for iOS and iPadOS. Mail is screwy and iCloud sync for Notes is dangerously poor, even after all these re-releases. Having 13.1 betas out there before 13 is even released just makes it worse. A rush job!

I fixed it myself by reinstalling the watch. I have reset all settings and content, then unpaired it and paired it again as new watch. The battery life is back to normal.
Hilarious! I may have been born at night, but, it wasn't last night.
You could have simply updated. Oh, well. Can't win 'em all.

From my perspective it _is_ littered with bugs and many of these have been confirmed by Apple through feedback; and on top of that, just about each release has introduced major and noticeable regressions that have been well noticed by many, so I feel pretty well grounded in this belief.

I could list off about 20 bugs that impact the daily user across iOS and iPadOS, and about another 15 that impact common components of UIKit. The development period this time around has been far from normal and very concerning IMO.
Trivial stuff, I've been running since day one and only minor issues. Might be you?

“It’s doesn’t affect me, must not be worth addressing or even considering” is not an acceptable saying in this industry. If it is being seen by a user, other users are experiencing it.

Trivial stuff” is what dramatically contributed to iOS 11’s terrible rap sheet and it’s concerning that Apple seems to be making that mistake again, so soon. Especially with some major issues existing out there.
