Glad favorites are added back to the share sheet. Biggest pet peeve for iOS 13.1 PB1 is fixed. Wallpapers has also been fixed. I have no other issues to speak of at this point other than the occasional 3rd party app bug which is expected when running beta software.

Earlier there was a feature in FaceTime described where the caller looked like they were looking directly into the camera instead of at the screen. It seemed to have disappeared in one of the early betas or I can’t find it in the settings. Did it disappear or am I just failing to find it?

This new beta has fixed the issue when typing in the beginning of a name when texting, it wouldn't populate the rest of the contact name. It works now!

One thing that hasn't worked in all of the betas, and I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is the following ..

Earlier I could disable all sounds for messages and set custom sounds for the contacts I still wanted a audible notification for, and it worked fine. Now when I disable sounds for messages, it just disables them everywhere irrespective of your custom notification settings for a contact.

I was under the impression that its' just the beta, and they'll put it back at some point. But now seeing it amiss from the 13.1, is just sad. There's now no way to have audible notifications for only a few select contacts, while disabling it for everyone else - all the other messengers I use have it - WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.

May not be the best workaround, but I setup my wife, family and close friends as emergency contacts. they always get through, regardless of settings and they have unique tones. Then set the default message sound to nothing.

Are you using CarPlay on 13.1 beta 2 on an Rdx with the latest firmware installed? Sorry to ask again, but that is the major issue 13.1 beta 1 was giving me - w CarPlay freezing. I won’t be able to try it on my car until later this evening.

Hi there, thanks for checking, you also have a 2019 rdx w 1.1.4 firmware and ios13.1 b2? I was one of the people who constantly had a frozen screen w b1 in my rdx and had to downgrade back to 13.0 when it was still in public beta. If this is fixed then that’s great! Will install tonight if you can confirm this. Thanks much!

Unfortunately, not... BMW

Yes. Removed many betas ago.

I stayed away from iOS 13 beta cycle (did previous ones, though). If I were to hop back on that train, would I get 13.0.x or 13.1.x?

Oh, I should add, Public Beta.

13.0b8 has been exceptionally stable for me. Beta 1 and 2 were really rough. 3 was better, but still rocky. From 4 on it started gelling.

Should I remain on 13.0pb8 then? There’s a few glitches here and there, but upon reading the comments for the last two 13.1 betas, I’m getting second thoughts. Thanks!

Anyone want to agree that it's all like 100% faster? Mail works. So far, the best release yet. I feel confident about GM now.

You’re more confident about GM because the second beta of a different iOS version is working better? Not seeing the connection there.

Please tell me they've re added the 'find my friends' widget...
I am not able to do that without lying to you

How about I put it like this, "I am very confident in iOS 13.1"

Seems relatively stable so far, no springboard crashes and mail is much improved. Have not had a single issue with Mail.

I'm very confident that iOS 13.0 GM is what is being installed on millions of 2019 phones that are currently in build, or finished and boxed in secure vaults in CN.

Apple requires a "manufacturing build" for these phones whether the OS is 100% baked or not when production revenue phones are built. It becomes a logistical nightmare to open boxes or to re-flash after manufacturing.

I've used the last release of iOS 13.0b on my one of my iPad's and agree it's far from GMc quality.

I believe that 13.1 will go out the door a several days before the new phones land at doorsteps and at stores. The new phones will come out of the box with 13.0 and these users will update to 13.1.

This is how things work.

Don't ask how I know :) .. and yes, I know.

I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I seem to recall reading an article a few years ago how Apple had a means to upgrade the software well the devices were in transit. Was I dreaming?

It seems logical that this is the way it will be. 13.1 will probably be available on release of the phones.

I don't think so. I suspect iOS 13 will be released to the general public about a week after the reveal on the 10th and will ship on the new devices. iOS 13.1 will continue testing for several more weeks and will be released at a follow on hardware event (Macs) in October.
Actually this sounds pretty convincing.

Why is it always one step forward and two steps back???

Apple gives us no choice but to update as they don’t patch previous versions of iOS, but yet they remove functionality...

why is my Siri with HomeKit so damn slow? using the HomeKit app everything responds fast but Siri the last month or two on these beta's is crap with HomeKit

Hi, thanks for your question; because there’s only our beta stream, you’ll get the very latest, i.e 13.1.x.
