This has been the case since several betas, I too have a Gb connection, sometimes it start fast, like 40 MB/s but it slows to a crawl fairly soon, Last beta started with ~3 MB/s, I had to restart about 10 times before I got a reasonable DL speed.Extremely slow download ... on 1 Gb fast connection ...
If you look at all the betas they have a letter at the end of build number released builds don’t tend to have a letter at the end. With less than 48hrs till full release I would say this “Could “ be th finished product but I won’t try to second guess AppleI’m tech illiterate and never bothered to ask about the various letters at the end of a build. So the absence of a letter could signify GM, then?
This is what will be released on the 12th unless there is some show-stopping bug that gets identified in the next 24 hours. If you look at all the betas they have a letter at the end of build number released builds don’t tend to have a letter at the end. Does this come down when you install the profile? I've just been grabbing the OTA updates until the RCs came down.See what they have done to the full installer name:

I.e., no beta in the name anymore.
That means to make a bootable usb installer the command now changes to
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Big\ Sur.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled
(if installing onto a 16GB usb named Untitled)
Same. This version must be near-final/final.Screw it. I'm upgrading tonight. I can't wait anymore.
I have same question as wellAnyone know how to download full image/installer? Previously I'd been able to just re-run the Beta Access Utility, though now it doesn't appear to download the whole thing.
EDIT: Here's the error I keep getting. Anyone know how to get around this so that I can download the complete install image?

It might not be available for appleseed but it is for developers.Per the AppleSeed email received earlier today:
Note: For today's macOS Big Sur seed, a full installer is not available. If you are starting from macOS Catalina or an earlier version of macOS, you will need to install 20B5022a (RC1) prior to updating to 20B28 (RC2).
I don't think so. There is too much software and I would guess some people still use bootcamp for work or playing games I use bootcamp for games. If I run games in a virtual machine its painful!Probably the last Intel version of macOS. Looks like full speed ahead to drop the Intel platform just like they did with PPC. The end of hackintosh as well.
I am on the dev portal, but missing something obvious. Does the profile downloaded from the Dev site DL the full installer? It might not be available for appleseed but it is for developers.
Ok, may be the same issue w/ the Dev release as well then.Per the AppleSeed email received earlier today:

That's the firmware on a T2 Mac, so yes, it was upgraded.Firmware stayed the same on my 2018 MB Pro, but iBridge was updated from 18.16.12560.5.1,0 (RC1) to 18.16.12561.0.0,0.
