Apple please fix the problems we're having with external monitors not waking. I have to shut down my Mac Pro every night because the screen won't come on otherwise. And when are you going to finally introduce Apple 4K/5K monitors?

I keep waiting for this machine to give me a reason to replace it, but it keeps on chugging. It's been dropped numerous times, and is routinely stored at freezing temps. I have only replaced the battery once (about 3 years ago) with a non-OEM unit off Amazon... lasts about 2 hours.

I recently just replaced my 2009 with a 2015 model, and relegated it to a live performance music computer.
It's weird, but I actually like my 2009 model better. I type better on it, and not worried about scratching it or power cycling it. I have put an SSD in it and replaced the battery once also. It just feels better, even as a non retina. It's performance in most regular tasks is comparable.

As the afternoon has worn on, I've watched emails disappear from Mail, then re-appear within a couple of minutes, so this didn't fix the problem. Even on the non-beta, I was having this problem and can say that both of the recent beta updates seemed to improve the situation, but it's still a problem - unfortunately.
In my experience, thats not Mail, thats the service provider. It is easy to forget that IMAP and Mail expect emails to be handled as files in folders, I've seen your problem when Mail is connecting to a service such as Gmail via IMAP, because Gmail does not handle email as files in folders, instead Gmail has a single folder and labels everything. In order for Gmail to support IMAP, it emulates the files in folders handling by pretending it's labels are folders.

If the provider is not the issue the only thing left might be mails own database is probably corrupt. in which case assuming all your email is online, disconnect your accounts, delete the Mail folder in your Library folder and then reconnect the accounts.

Strange that there are no details about changes. Previously Apple has included such notes so I'm wondering why not on this 10.11.3 case?

Probably it's a placebo update, will be released for the sake of releasing but not fixing any longstanding issues...

My MBP late 2010 is still on the Restarting screen. 15 minutes and counting. Looks like it's stalled :(

For the love of all that is good an holy, please stop the beach balls!!

I get beach balls everywhere with El Capitan on 2011 MacBook Air, 2012 MacBook Pro, 2013 Mac Pro (8 core, 64 GB RAM, D500), 2015 Retina iMac. All with SSD, no hard disks. With Yosemite I rarely experienced beach balls. It's frustrating.

My problem--and it's been a consistent one since installing El Cap--is that Calendar's window won't maintain its size. I open it, and the window comes about halfway down the screen. I resize it to fill the screen. If I close Calendar, it's back to the original window size the next time I open it. I keep installing these betas in the hopes that the problem will get rectified, but alas.

Same.
Not the mail database either. Mail on OS X sucks, period.

Sucks I tell you.

Might sound weird, but I am hoping this can fix my fan issue. Ever since I installed 10.11.2, I have been getting a weird clicking noise from my fan. Seems really odd. Anyone else have a similar issue? Is it crazy to think it could potentially be a software issue?

I spent 10 years doing tech support on Macs. I'm quite sure the fan noise has nothing to due with your OS.

If your Mac is still under warranty, I'd suggest you call or visit the nearest Apple store to get it fixed.

If your Mac is not under warranty, I recommend you visit https://www.ifixit.com/Search?query=replace+fan.
They have parts for Macs and iDevices all the way back to 2005 (and possibly beyond).

They also have handy-dandy tool kits for safely opening your Mac AND both video and printable detailed how-tos to help you diagnose and fix your machine.

How to tell?

Apple Menu --> About this Mac --> System Report --> Extensions

Anything AMD will give you the AMD display driver version and anything GeForce for nVidia. You want the full 'get into string' data, not just the number from the version column.

For example, El Cap currently ships with the 310 series of nVidia driver, which is about 2 years old and the same version that shipped with Yosemite.

I'm hoping .3 is the update where I feel confident enough to upgrade from Yosemite. Fingers crossed for positive feedback!

Any way to update that?

Nope......... USB (sound input) and RJ45 ports still not working or very flakey. Stick to what's not broken i.e. 10.10.5!!

Are you using Dell 24" 4k or 27" 4k?
