Has anyone who's tried the beta noticed if it fixes/improves the iCal calendar alert notification "snooze alert until" options?

The limited options in the last OS or two have made calendar alerts all but unusable and highly disruptive to getting things done. It seems Apple expects us to go and edit each event if we want to snooze alerts for more than one hour at a time while in the middle of other tasks.

I know a bunch of us have submitted a feature request on it. Hoping they finally listened.

Has it been fixed?

Are you seeing lag with the animations in Stage Manager? I’m seeing a slight lag and it’s worse on an external monitor. Was hoping this wasn’t my ‘18 MacBook Pro showing its age…
That was the reason I went back to Monterey. Let me know if it's improved. Took them till 12.4 on Monterey to make everything smooth on external monitor, though. At least for my setup.

New option for Stage Manager in this beta? One of the consequences of this option is that, in Mail, when you create a new email, the new message window and the main Mail window co-exist on the same 'stage', rather than the main window immediately diving into the 'cast'.

OS 13 = better for M1
OS 12 = better for Intel

My fan has been on nonstop on an i9 MBP

Ventura's working well on my 2020 Intel MBA. Up until the previous beta anyway; I've yet to install today's.

EDIT: Today's beta no worse (and no better) than the previous one, apart from it killing most widgets.

Public Beta finally showed for me.
1.34 GB file
Clicked agree, clicked "restart"... then it was gone.
Then it popped up again, as a 2.34 GB file, and I had to start all over again.
This all in a matter of two minutes.
Weird.
Very Weird

Public beta finally showed for me about an hour ago. It is now installed on my 2017 MacBook. So far, the only problem I've seen is a light gray menu bar instead of the correct color (I fixed it by fiddling with the Appearance settings in System Settings).

Is System Settings still the muddled mess it's been up to now?
whoever changed that UI should really use it themselves. Can't believe i had to click on few buttons before I could find the information I want. The pre-Ventura OSs definitely have much better System preference and system profile UIs. Please consider to move the entire system setting related UIs back to old design. I am so tired of infinite clicks and buttons.

This years' MacOS betas have been pretty stable for me. It's the first time I never had to revert back to a stable release.
That said, I'm also getting the black or failed widgets (except for the calendar), good thing I don't use them much.
The other issue I keep having since beta 6 is that both VLC and IINA keep crashing. I tried deleting their config files, reinstalling, it didn't work. They work fine if I just open/play the media file but if I pause or resize the window, or switch to another video they just freeze. With beta 4 or 5 I had some serious problems with Google Drive app, it just kept crashing. Now I have a new one, if I delete a file (move it to a Bin) it syncs that file to a cloud, so I have to switch off syncing if I'm not using it.

Conversely, Ventura is the first one i DID roll back because of issues haha. As a former Ventura local I was really excited to install it too. I had an audio plugin I had just bought and for some reason it wasnt allowed to access/write its registration information in the /Library/Application Support folder. Two other plugins by the same company that were authorized and running under Monterey, weren't 'seeing' their information in there anymore either and "broke" as well. I had just bought that new filter plugin so I rolled back to my 12.5 backup to use it..

The company wasn't testing the beta (and mentioned they don't have access to them) so it was either sit and hope it gets fixed or roll back and play with my new toy (but I did get some thanks for letting them know it didnt work with Ventura haha). That was PB2 I believe, but after it took a literal whole day to roll back and install Monterey, then restore my Time Machine I haven't wanted to try a newer one yet.. I did have a couple that broke in the middle of the Monterey beta but fixed themselves after the next beta release..

I THINK I installed the public beta and it now shows 22A5342f as the current build. I feel rather unsure as this was the quickest OS install I've ever seen on my Mac(s)!! I checked and it said it was ready to restart. It restarted (once) and was done!! The black screen and progress bar were there for maybe 1-2 minutes. Now, every time I try to check ... it says no update is available.

My widgets are also not working, and are all white, both where they were installed and on the list of available widgets.

Getting my M1 MacBook Air/external monitor to reboot properly in "clamshell mode" is still problematic. I hope they get this fixed as it always worked perfectly in the past!!

What Apple engineer thought it was a good idea to:

Make all keyboard shortcuts in the menu bar grayed out, even when the command itself is available? Why does Apple not want people to see keyboard shortcuts?

Prevent the "Cycle Through Windows" (Command `) function from working in any applications? In some applications like Finder, the menu bar command and the keyboard shortcut do nothing. In other applications, the command is completely missing.

I cannot get the firewall to stay on. As soon as I close settings it turns off

Why is it that Apple makes the releases worse as they progress? Widgets don't work in this Ventura beta, visual glitches & heating issues back on iOS 16 RC. Too late to even go back to prior versions now.

Go to System Settings > Appearance and choose an Accent Color. Click on a menu such as File or Edit, and the highlighted menu is not the accent color. Move the mouse down the menu and over a menu command, and the highlighted command is the accent color. After clicking on a menu icon such as Wi-Fi and then moving the mouse over a menu command, the highlighted command is not the accent color. Why is the menu highlighting so inconsistent? I thought consistency was supposed to be a major benefit of MacOS.

Yup. Really, really hate the way they tried to make system settings behave like this was iOS. If not for the search function I couldn’t find anything.
The new System Settings is terrible for working with multiple monitors connected, especially if they are the same model. In older MacOS versions, opening Displays preferences would put a settings window on each monitor, with the specific settings for that monitor, so you know which one you are configuring. That makes it easier to work with multiple monitors that are the same model. But in Monterey and Ventura, there is only the single window interface where you have to first click on one of the monitors in the list and hope that you selected the correct one.

Same issue when configuring wallpapers. Where it used to put a settings window on each monitor, now you have to click on a monitor in the list and hope that you selected the correct one.

The new Displays and Wallpaper settings look like they were worked on by summer interns who have never used MacOS before, and did not think to test with multiple identical monitors connected. It resembles the terrible Microsoft Windows display settings.
